Members phkrause Posted December 21, 2013 Members Posted December 21, 2013 Great article! It reminds me of the story in the Bible about Lot. Not that he was homosexual, but just the whole additude of the people in general. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted December 22, 2013 Moderators Posted December 22, 2013 I am reminded of working with alcoholics who gave up the use of beverage alcohol but continued to say that they were an alcoholic. My point: At a time when I was working closely with homosexuals, I found some those who had chosen to be celibate, but they continued to say that they were homosexual. My point: In my understanding gender preference is not a choice. It is a choice as to how one lives one's life, although the help of the Lord may be needed to live that choice. Most homosexuals, with a gender preference for the same sex would not be able to enter into a successful marriage with a partner from the other gender. However, some people may be bisexual. These may be able to enter into a successful marriage with a person of the opposite gender. One important issue is the definition of the word "homosexual." Some people define it according to what a person does. By this definition, one who stops engaging in a homosexual practice has stopped being a homosexual. By another definition, the word is defined according to gender preference. By this definition, one who no longer engages in homosexual practices, but maintains a same-sex preference remains a homosexual although not practicing. So what? The definition of the word "homosexual" is important when we talk about people who change. Quote Gregory
