Members phkrause Posted December 24, 2013 Author Members Posted December 24, 2013 What is a.... Tom church? Sorry for that, but it should read Tom's Church, or the church Tom attends. If that's easier to understand. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
olger Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Spencerville, then. Been there. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Kountzer Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I find it a bit disingenuous that Dr Carson comes out against President Obama in a prayer breakfast, and now all of a sudden he is so inspirational. I've been on this forum on and off for awhile now, and I've never seen Dr Carson mentioned that much. And it is not Dr Carson, but the God of heaven who allowed him to reach the heights of achievement that he has reached, who is inspirational. Carson suddenly starts wearing his conservative viewpoints on his sleeve and now he has become the patron saint of politically like minded white adventists. I first read his book Gifted Hands at least 20 years ago. This was long before Cuba Gooding Jr played him in a movie. Dr Carson has been around for years, decades. Lots of people have drawn inspiration from his achievements. I mean he is black, african american, from a single parent inner city background, and he is a seventh day adventist. That describes a lot of churn members. Carson is not the only person that the Lord has helped in similar manner. I know of many success stories that can only be accounted for because of divine help and inspiration. It is just that these people aren't so flamboyant is stating their political views. Some of them are liberal democrats. Thank goodness the Lord is no respecter of political views, and that you don't have to be in any one particular political party to make it into heaven. Quote I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. Frederick Douglass
Guest arnie Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Kountzer, Ben Carson is certainly not flamboyant, in fact, he comes across as pretty humble. I think it's great that he has the courage to stand up and be accounted. Awesome Quote
