Samie Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Quote: NKJ Matthew 23:29-31 29 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, 30 "and say, 'If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.' 31 "Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. What Bible-based reason would justify the exclusion of the prophet slayers referred to by our Lord Himself from the prophet-slayers who are to suffer the 3rd of the 7 last plagues? Quote: NKJ Revelation 16:4-6 4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying: "You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, Because You have judged these things. 6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, And You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due." Quote

Ron Amnsn Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 What Bible-based reason would justify the exclusion of the prophet slayers referred to by our Lord Himself from the prophet-slayers who are to suffer the 3rd of the 7 last plagues? Jesus referred to some of scribes and Pharisees of his day as "sons of those who murdered the prophets". He did not call them "prophet slayers". Those scribes and Pharisees could be excluded for reasons based on these verses: Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin. (Deuteronomy 24:16 NASB) But the sons of the slayers he did not put to death, according to what is written in the book of the Law of Moses, as the LORD commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, nor the sons be put to death for the fathers; but each shall be put to death for his own sin.” (2 Kings 14:6 NASB) The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father’s iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son’s iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself. (Ezekiel 18:20 NASB) Quote

So it follows you are not aware SDA's believe the 7 last plagues will be poured out BEFORE the second coming of Christ. If the 7 last plagues are pre-advent, then, only the wicked who remain alive until the 2nd coming will suffer them. In the 3rd plague, Scriptures tell us those who killed or murdered the prophets are given blood to drink. If indeed the 7 last plagues are pre-advent instead of post-advent, then the subject prophet slayers of the OP are not among those suffering in the 3rd plague. If EGW is the last prophet and she died 1915, NOT murdered, then there is no single living prophet-slayer now. So who are the prophet-slayers suffering in the 3rd plague? Quote

Samie Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 Okay. This is a different question. I wasn't expecting the murderers of the Old Testament prophets to be among those given blood to drink during the third plague of Revelation 16. So what Bible-based justification can you offer why you weren't expecting them to be? Quote
Samie Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 Looks more like there does not exist any Bible-based justification for excluding the prophet-slayers in the OT. Christ Himself had said, He will reward EVERY man when He comes again (Matt 16:27; Rev 22:12), NOT before He comes. Quote: KJV Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. NAS Revelation 22:12 "Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. Quote

Taking the Bible as the sole basis of doctrine, why does it seem that Scriptures describe the 7 last plagues as post-advent instead of pre-advent? Quote
