Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted January 4, 2014 Moderators Posted January 4, 2014 I work in a hospital and I work every 3rd weekend. I was driving to work this AM and at 5:05 another vehicle side-swiped me. It was traveling at an excessive rate of speed and it departed the scene without stopping. Road conditions: Snow on the highway. Weather: Snow coming down. Visibility: I could see several hundred feet ahead. My speed: 43 MPH Damage to my car: about $300 Other vehicle: Dark grey or black, passenger vehicle. A bit down the highway I noted a black vehicle that had just gone off the road and into a ditch. It still had its lights on. It could have been a lot worse. I could have been spun out into the path of other traffic. The damage to my vehicle could have been much worse. This is why I have insurance. My car will be repaired and I will only be out my deductible. Quote Gregory
Administrators Naomi Posted January 4, 2014 Administrators Posted January 4, 2014 Yes, you have much for which to be thankful. So happy for you that the damage was minor in comparison. If you have uninsured motorist insurance it may not cost you anything ... I suppose that is dependent on which company is your carrier. Whatever, so happy you are well!!! Members phkrause Posted January 4, 2014 Members Posted January 4, 2014 Praise the Lord you are OK. But can't you put in a report tp the police? About a hit in run and see what comes of that? Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted January 5, 2014 Author Moderators Posted January 5, 2014 Uninsured motorest: This comes in two parts--personal injury and property damage. In some States/insurance companies these are combined into one policy. You get both if you purchase. In other states/companies they are separate and you only get what you purchase. I have the personal injury and not the property damage. The reason is that with my collision insurance the only real benefit of the property damage would be to pay my collision deductible. Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted January 5, 2014 Author Moderators Posted January 5, 2014 I have reported Case # CO114168827, which you can purchase. However, the State Police do not have great interest in attempting to find the driver of a vehicle that caused $300 in damages. Quote Gregory
Stan Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Only $300? That is a miracle. Quote If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses. https://www.paypal.me/clubadventist Administrator of a few websites like https://adventistdating.com
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted January 5, 2014 Administrators Posted January 5, 2014 All things considered, it is fortunate that is all. Glad you are OK. olger Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 These days, (as Stan suggested) you can rack up $300 in cleaning excessive bird droppings, replacing valve stems and adding new wiper blades. Count it all joy (James 1:2). Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
