I know this is so dumb, so irrisponsible, so against the spirit of CA, so naughty, so debasing, so stupid, so....

blush.gif

BUT why not have a pay per view section where you could view deleted posts. $10/post and the money donated to a charity. Anyone wanting to view the posts would have to sign a confidentiality clause.

I guess I have just dropped 10 points on the respectablity scale of 1-10 but.... blush.gif

heheheheheh.....

It might be a good idea for a fund raiser...

Of course, only those who want to pay $10 per post would be able to see that post...and it might help to releave some of the more contentious among us of thier hard earned cash....and disway some to be contentious at all....

of course there could be some monetary in$entive to do this for the moderators... shocked.gif And raise some needed moneys for the BBS... seenoevil.gif

Heh, it's definitely a funny suggestion... but I think most of us are working on over-coming the part of us that likes to rubberneck at traffic accidents! <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

If you are willing to pay $10 for a deleted post, then it should be made available to you. That would help our dear Stan out considerably.

Some people delete their posts (I have never done that but some have) no doubt because they realize they came accrossed too harsh or what they said was inflamatory. I think that they should be allowed to do that without worrying that someone is going to read it later. (Though Lazurus I like your sense of humor!)

On the other hand...it Would be nice to find a way to fund Stan's ministry a bit better even if he isn't a charity. He works hard to provide what we all enjoy here.

All we have to do is send him a check now and then.

He has lots of projects (the Korean food project, for example).

Thanks Jeannie! Stan...tell us about your other projects too. I'd love to hear about them.

Margaret Gray responds:

Perhaps we could have a two-tier system. One could pay $10 to read a deleted page, but then the deletee would have 24-hours to respond that he or she did not want it read. The deletee could then pay $15 not to have it read. There would be no refunds.

To be fair, perhaps we ought to rebate one-half of the charge to the person who first wrote the post. IF we did this, we might have a lot of posts deleted.

In fact, I could possibly retire and live off of my deleted post income.

I haven't won the lottery yet so I would be able to afford to read deleted posts, especially all the ones from the 3ABN thread!!! mittelgr124.gif

The poll left out one possible selection - "No, thank you"!

I didn't vote because I didn't want to use the word "childish" towards you Lazarus, but also didn't want to say yes!

Stan, if you do the deleted posts idea, I'd love to see your tithe check from all the income you'd get from this wild and terribly curious group! smile.gif

You folks are so kind but vote your conscience.

I really can't believe, however, that you would vote against such revolutionary idea.

Maybe we could have private viewings of the full collection for very large donations!

I guess I'm really innocent. What could an SDA in good and regular standing write that would have to be deleted. Its really beyond me!

I would have to get at least $1million in used euros and a new identity for me and my family and a baby blue Hummer to get around in my new location...wherever that would be.

Its a dangerous business, even now I check under my car every morning! wink.gif

All of you darn jesuit conference employees should be checking under your cars. All of them darn anti-jesuits got yer number, an' them are after yer dad-gum hide.

The posts deleted by the poster aren't as curious as the ones deleted by the moderators! Feels a little like I'm in the military!

I would almost be willing to take out a loan to read the "deleted by moderator" posts in the 3ABN threads! hee hee!

By the way, Stan, both of my parents worked for many years in the church and I learned very quickly that if I wanted to do something that wasn't quite approved, to do it as far away from the conference office as possible! Certain conference employees seemed to know everything! blush.gif

All this talk of "jesuits in the conference" that i have heard over the years, has anyone ever ever ever met/exposed/been one?
