At best, on our good days, we only have the ability to thing Human.

Our best comparison is similar to ants describing to other ants how people think. They could only use it in phrases they understand in ant language.

Yet I see humans getting into heated fights over the this, and they often come down to this.

Yes you can overcome all sins.

No you can't overcome all sins.

Good thing Christ did not focus him ministry on this. He was very balanced, as we should be.

Right now most of the Christian world thinks they will be saved in their sins and that with a fallen human nature they cannot possibly be victorious over sin in this life. But Jesus has said only the pure of heart will see God,(Matt 5:8) and Paul said ."Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord Heb 12:14

To think that God's grace is not sufficient to give us the power to be overcomers is to doubt the word of God. If a man or a woman thinks that his/her inherited and/or cultivated tendencies to sin cannot be overcome in this life, then being an overcomer will be well nigh impossible. Yet Jesus has said:

i wonder if many people believe that victory over sin means their sinful nature is eliminated and not existing anymore. i have thought many Christians are fighting the existence of their fallen nature. this is not our battle. we will have a fallen nature until Jesus comes and we receive a new form and the fallen nature ceases to exist.

additionally as long as we have a fallen nature i don't think we can ever experience sinlessness. The closer we get to God the more clearly we sense our fallen nature. So we don't feel better about the measure of our victory and our righteousness, the closer we get to God.

i believe our victory is among other things-

1. to maintain a growing trust in God to save us and to continue saving us. This involves comprehending the love of God toward us and returning it.

2. by faith continue to respond to the voice of God to our soul that empowers us to love other's as God loves them.

3. Love God more then we love ourselves, "Love not our life to our death." And to keep our communion with God continuous.

Of course we can never be sinless for all have sinned. But we do have the promise that we can by the grace of God and our firmness to duty stop transgressing God's law.

"If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts."1 John 1:10 NLT

When can we say the Word above is not true?

On the other hand, when can we say this goal is reached?

"But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:48 NLT

May I suggest that as long as this below is true,

"But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away." Isaiah 64:6 NKJV

-none can claim their own purity. However we have this promise, to be fulfilled in the lives of those submitting to the King of kings.

"Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and standing before the angel. He spoke and said to those who were standing before him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” Again he said to him, “See, I have taken your iniquity away from you and will clothe you with festal robes.” Then I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments, while the angel of the Lord was standing by."Zechariah 3:3-5 NASB

-as is available for all returning prodigals.

Yes you can overcome all sins.

No you can't overcome all sins.

it is a miracle to overcome the power of sin. the power of selfishness.

it is by the power of God alone that this happens. we will never feel like we have done it, because it is not by our own power it is ever done. God alone is glorified by our obedience, we are His workmanship.

we cannot do it in our own strength ever. this experience cannot be explained. so we are not so great at conveying it in words.

we are commanded, "be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with Good." and then "it is God that works in you both to will and to do of His good will."

it is a tight partnership, a working together with God, each individuals walk and overcoming is personal and goes far deeper then anyone can see. and it is not always greatly obvious, when Elijah complained, "i am the only one left, he was surprised when God replied, Romans 11:4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

when God speaks to you, and you move to do his will. It is like the angels who hearken to His voice, obeying His commands with delight, it is their highest pleasure.

you have in Christ a new heart that loves to do His will.

we are not evolutionist Christians, we believe God creates in us a new heart, it does not evolve.

like the man laying beside the pool, and Jesus spoke and in responding to obey power and life came into all his limbs and he rejoiced doing the will of God. His broken body was recreated to do God's will immediately when he willed to fulfill what command God spoke to Him. what a connection between the creator and the creation.

God is gloried in our obedience, because it is the success of the power of love working in us, his work in us. and being that it is love working in us, it will only happen with our willing consent.

So why do so many focus on something Christ never addressed?

Praise God we are saved in our sins

When the Word says that without destroying the consistency of all other written biblical acknowledgement, I'll believe it.

“With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful;

With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;

With the pure You will show Yourself pure;

And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd.

You will save the humble people;

But Your eyes are on the haughty, that You may bring them down.

“For You are my lamp, O Lord;

The Lord shall enlighten my darkness. 2 Sam 22:26-29 NLT

"....intemperate and loose in morals and conduct, uncontrolled and fierce, haters of good. [They will be] treacherous [betrayers], rash, [and] inflated with self-conceit. [They will be] lovers of sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather than lovers of God.

For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away from them]."

As long as we are in this world, that which you have expressed reveals the reason why you or I will not only be sanctified by the God of Heaven and earth but will also be justified through His robe of righteousness, freely given to those who recognize their need to be washed in the blood of Jesus, until the moment below be met.

Thank God that He covers us with His garment of righteousness, and that He doesn't take that covering away, not even at the close of probation. We will be wearing it at the Wedding Supper of the Lamb.
