While the Holy Bible doesn't seem to express it as our main objective in pursuing Jesus' instructions, this would seem to shed some light as to the importance.

About 12 years ago I was involved with one of the independent TV ministries, as some of you know. Through this I learned some of the secrets of independent televangelism, and I see traces of this with almost all televangelists.

It is extremely difficult to run any kind of televangelism without the use of Mammon. The televangelist makes very special appeals to people for financial support, and the greatest appeal lies in producing ideas people find nowhere else.

Sorry to say that I have experienced SDA televangelism whose definition of truth is not what is real but what they get away with as long as it benefits their ministry financially - because they are in dire need of the donations.

Some make money by making up fictional miracle stories or Biblical interpretations they are able to sell to their financial supporters who are tired of giving only to the hum drum regular church projects.

You have to produce something spectacular in order to be a successful televangelist. Many people believe anything produced in a TV studio by a person calling himself an Adventist must be true and they oblige with their financial support.

I was not singling out Dr. Veith. Just telling what dangers face the independent televangelist as I experienced it in my own involvement.

.... and that all Bible societies and translators TODAY collaborate in their aim to create a pro-Sunday Bible is JUST AS obvious and UNDENIABLE.

Well, they are led to do it by their actions, cant go to worship on Sunday and not have something to back the change.

Now lets look at the the Johannine Comma (or Comma Johanneum).

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." (1 John 5:7, KJV)

The Johannine Comma is the second phrase of I John 5:7.

It appears in the Byzantine family of Manuscripts and the pre-nicene early church fathers are also known to have quoted the Comma. Cyprian (258 AD) knew of the Comma, his citation certainly suggests that he did. He writes: "The Lord says, 'I and the Father are one' and likewise it is written of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 'And these three are one'."

Also, there is no doubt that Priscillian (385 AD) cites the Comma:

As John says "and there are three which give testimony on earth, the water, the flesh, the blood, and these three are in one, and there are three which give testimony in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Spirit, and these three are one in Christ Jesus." [5]

Likewise, Varimadum (380 AD) states: "And John the Evangelist says, . . . 'And there are three who give testimony in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Spirit, and these three are one'."

Additionally, Cassian (435 AD), Cassiodorus (580 AD), and a host of other African and Western bishops in subsequent centuries have cited the Comma.

But it is rejected almost in all criticism on the strength of three manuscripts, and they are the Codices Sinaiticus (4th century), Vaticanus (4th century), Alexandrinus (5th century). Interesting, the 3 Alexandrian corrupted text show up again and most certainly trying to affect a core doctrine of the GodHead and the divinity of Christ.

So does it belong in the Word of God, or should the 3 corrupted text be followed.
