How many crossed into the land?

How many males, over 21yrs at the Exodus, later cross over the Jordan into the promised land?

I was always taught - 2 - Caleb and Joshua.

Numbers 26:65 "For the LORD had said of them, 'They shall surely die in the wilderness.' So there was not left a man of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun."

But it was actually 3, because Eleazar - who became high priest after Aaron - also crossed into the land. He had to have been at least 30 yrs at the foot of Sinai, because he was consecrated to the priesthood along with his brothers (Exo 28:1, Num. 3:4).

He was told, along with Aaron and Ithamar, not to rend his garments or show other signs of mourning when the fire of God killed Nadab and Abihu. That was because he was a priest.

Eleazar finally dies in Joshua Chapter 24.

The picture presented is a miniature of the kingdom.

Joshua was of the tribe of Ephraim. Ephraim was later the name of the 10 Northern tribes, also called "Israel".

Caleb was a Kenizzite, the great grandson of Esau. He would have been a member of the mixed multitude, who later was grafted into the tribe of Judah.

So who will enter the "promised land"?

Israel redeemed - pictured with all of the Gentiles grafted in by faith - led by their High Priest Messiah.

Blessings,
