Members phkrause Posted February 23, 2014 Members Posted February 23, 2014 Driving on the left side of the road or converting the speed limit from kilometers to miles per hour is challenging enough. But in some places, you have a whole host of weird traffic laws to contend with, too. Here are 10 crazy laws that could really drive you mad! http://www.smartertravel.com/photo-galle...d=674&all=1 Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted February 24, 2014 Moderators Posted February 24, 2014 I have owned an automobile and been licensed to drive in both Korea and Panama. The driving culture is different and that is the culture that rules. Yes, I have driven in a country where it was illegal to drive a vehicle that was dented, needed paint or rusted. Doing so could result in a fine and/or loss of a vehicle license. I have driven in a country where you were required to stop for a policeperson who was on foot and could use deadly force if you failed to stop. NOTE: I personally know of a case where the policeperson fired into a vehicle of four people who failed to stop and killed one of the people. Quote Gregory
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted February 24, 2014 Moderators Posted February 24, 2014 When we invaded the island of Grenada this became a problem. All of our young drivers were used to driving on the right side of the road. The law on the island required people to drive on the left side. So, all of our vehicles were on the roads with the citizens of were driving on the left. It was a mixture that was not good. But, we got through it fairly well. One of the ways that we had to do it was to place people at intersections (The island did not have many traffic lights.) to control the traffic flow. Quote Gregory
