And that is what I am going to do when I address the potential Arizona law.

My question is simple and much less basic than civil, legal, religious rights.

As a heterosexual I do not make myself stand out as such ... I go about my life, business, etc in a rather nondescript manner. What I do in my love life, bedroom, etc is nothing I wish to make public. It is personal ... nor do I want to know what anyone else chooses to do in their personal life.

In a public place why do homosexuals have to make an issue of being homosexual? Why not live their life in a style that is respectful of themselves and of others... .... why create the drama? Why the flamboyancy? It is not a new lifestyle choice; been around for centuries, so why draw public attention to yourself?

And, as a business proprietor, when do you loose your rights to make the rules pertaining to how you operate your establishment? Do you have a choice as to the environment you wish to create?

Lastly, if a homosexual came into an establishment and did not draw attention to themselves ... who would know their orientation? ... would there then be a problem?

In all aspects of society how many problems do we create for ourselves?

~~~~~~
Lastly, before you verbally hang me let me just add that I have a couple of sets of very close friends who are practicing homosexuals. We've been friends for many years ... in the workplace or socially you would never know their orientation. One couple was recently married ... I attended their reception.
I worked with several gays.Most were well accepted and well liked.They neither hid it or broadcast it. Simply went about their business living their lives.Frequently a small group of us would meet for a late breakfast and they were always included.
They referred to the activists or those wishing to always make a gay statement as "freaks".These were mostly left to themselves,complaining about discrimination and hatred for gays.
However if you are not in favor or supportive of all their actions you are somehow less than.
Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.
I think overall most gay people don't "act gay". most of the time you would never know. On the flip side there is always a rumour or talk circulating that someone is gay that isn't in the slightest. I have more than once been on the receiving end of the latter and as a result gotten to taste a little bit of the discrimination that gay people live with. It really is unpleasant.
The problem with this Arizona thing, other than the overall bigotry of it, is how - unless they see a person with their partner in the act of homosexual activity - do people get to decide who is gay and who is not? Now there are people that it is fairly evident, they do flaunt it. But what of those that don't? What of those that may be a little bit kinder, gentler, more sensitive or feminine type of straight men, or a little rougher, harder, or butchier women? Or hey really I know a lot of very straight women that will walk around arm and arm or hand in hand with a close friend. So how is that decision arrived upon?
There is always a lot of talk about how gay people flaunt being gay. There is a percentage of them that do indeed. Then there are those that don't flaunt it, but just are rightfully not ashamed of being honest about who they are. But lets look at the hordes of straight men that most certainly flaunt their sexuality. They are pretty in your face making sure that you know that "they ain't one of them queers".
The bottom line is truly - what you do in your bedroom is your business.The only person that it should really matter to is the person you are doing it with. End of story.
You realize that people do go out on the dates and kiss in public, right?
You think that the only way to recognize one as homosexual is flamboyancy? :) How about if one comes to a restaurant with a date, which is not a woman? Should they pretend that it's just two guys having a friendly dinner?
Is it wrong to create an "all-white" bar? Why would it be based on the above reasoning?
Sure, if all of us just stopped going out on dates, holding hands, and hugging and kissing in public... life would be much easier.
