Gus Foster Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 On the eve of my trip to Oxford University for a presentation on Religious Tolerance I have encountered a Sabbath issue I have not seen clearly before. When the little horn of Daniel seven supplanted three kingdoms they were the Herculi, the Vandals and the Ostrogoths in the order of falling; all of which were Arianists which most were seventh day Sabbath observers. When the counter-reformation kicked into high gear, especially during and after the Council of Trent in the middle of the sixteenth century the prominent protestant groups; Albigenses, Waldenses, Huguenots (Vaudois) and others were all Sabbath keepers. It is true that the inquisitors of Spain, Portugal and England were directed at Abraham's seed, the Jews and the Muslims, but salivated when detecting a Sabbath keeper which was an automatic stake burning offense. The twentieth century war mongrels of Germany and Serbia were Sabbath observer head-hunters. In Revelation 13:15-17 the death decree is against those who will not worship the beast; those who keep the commandments of God and have the faith and testimony of Jesus; in other words, believers in a literal seven day creation which are Sabbath keepers. The Catechism of the Catholic Church along with some other codex translations list the third commandment as 'remember the Sabbath day to keep it Holy.' which is embracing a Sunday sabbath. Obviously, this is spurious since the seventh day of creation was declared the Sabbath day. The Lord's Day in Revelation 1:10 is falsely heralded as Sunday, even though our Lord declared the Sabbath His day. (Mark 2:27, 28) My conclusion can only be that the enemy of THE enemy is a true Sabbath keeper, one who desires to live in the will of his Creator. Gus Foster Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 I am amazed at some of the replies I have received from some our other sources -- let me share one-- "Apparently the post contains a number of historical inaccuracies. Many severe critics use these inaccuracies to try to discredit our church for keeping the Seventh-day Sabbath. I am returning your post. You need to do a lot more homework on this subject before you post again." Walter Veith has authoritarian evidence about each one of these mentioned groups as being avid Sabbath keepers, for which thousands were martyred.(Actually - so do I) Where is the 144,000? Where is our church? Quote Striving for a better relationship with Him! Gus Foster
