I was listening to Sean Hannity on the radio today for a bit and heard him say that Appeals Court Judge Samuel Alito, is a catholic. If he gets appointed he will be the 5th catholic judge on the supreme court.

Catholics have long held an unproportionate percentage of the power in US government. I believe they make up about 25% of the population yet more than 25% of Congress and Supreme Court justices (and perhaps federal appeals court judges) are Catholic. Does this reveal some kind of conspiracy? I don't think so - although I wouldn't rule it out. I think Catholics just tend to be more political than people of other faiths and as a result they end up holding more political positions.
