bonnie Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Restaurant’s Easter Ad Shows Jesus Smoking A Blunt April 21, 2014 4:29 AM SEATTLE, Wash. (CBS Seattle) – A restaurant is taking advantage of Easter falling on a specific date. With Easter Sunday falling on 4/20, the Lunchbox Laboratory has been using an ad showing Jesus holding a sandwich to promote an Easter 2-for-1 promotion on their “Burger of the Gods,” according to KOMO News. This year, the restaurant modified the ad and showed Jesus smoking a blunt while holding a sandwich. The restaurant sent it out to 15,000 people on its email list. “This is not about Jesus, it’s about the burger of the gods. It’s an actual burger that we have,” John Schmidt, owner of Lunchbox Laboratory, told KOMO. The ad has been shown through social media and gone viral. “I’m not your moral guide in life, I’m selling burgers,” Schmidt, who runs three Lunchbox Laboratory restaurants, told KOMO. “It’s not an anti-Christian message, it’s a very peaceful message, Jesus enjoying a sandwich and a blunt.” The ad only cost a couple of hundred dollars to create and has already generated tens of thousands of dollars in free advertising for the restaurant as it was picked up by several media outlets. Many people on social media wonder if Schmidt would do the same with the prophet Muhammad instead of Jesus. “I’m a Christian, I’m not a Muslim, and this is an ad promoting our Burger of the Gods, not a burger of the prophets,” Schmidt told KOMO. Schmidt has apologized to anyone he might have offended but is very proud of his creativity. “If Jesus was holding a goblet of wine you wouldn’t be interviewing me right now, but you put a joint in his hand, a very peaceful drug, its blasphemy,” he told KOMO. Schmidt said the promotion will be used again next year, except the joint will be removed because Easter falls on April 5, 2015. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Members phkrause Posted April 21, 2014 Members Posted April 21, 2014 Wonder what the difference is, about April 5 & 20? Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
M. T. Cross Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 PK 4:20 is for some reason a time to smoke a joint. Not sure where it came from but now in a lot of places organizations for the legalization of pot, use 4/20 as their official day kinda thing. Quote

JoeMo Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 80,000 people (mostly tourists) showed up for the combination of High Times magazine's Cannabis Cup competition and the city-sanctioned legal 4/20 gathering at our Civic Center Park yesterday. There were even free shuttles to take people between the two events. People went to the interdenominational Easter Sunrise Service at Red Rocks stoned (Yes, there are believers who smoke weed). For the record, I participated in neither- read about everything in the Denver Post and on CNN. Everything went off without a hitch; other than a few people were too stoned to leave when everything was over. 4/20 is also Hitler's birthday. It has special significance here in Denver; because that is when the Columbine massacre took place 15 years ago. Quote
