Jesus corrects her regarding the truth of the legacy of Jewish worship and He adds this- YET a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. v23 What does this say to you concerning Jesus' vision for the Gospel? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Sojourner Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Its interesting that you bring this up Gail, for whatever reason it reminds me of Jesus final instructions to the church - Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Jesus appears to pick up again on what he has told the Samaritan woman and not only that but being last thing that he says to them suggests its sheer importance. - Living in Australia I love that piece about "the ends of the earth" because it has all come to pass just as He instructed!
