Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted May 31, 2014 Members Posted May 31, 2014 1. be able to lead, despite the naysayers (strength/fortitude, and spiritual guide) 2. be able to preach from the heart, despite the critics (faith in God) 3. like and enjoy people, despite the gossipers (listener, confidante, and sociable) Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Administrators debbym Posted May 31, 2014 Administrators Posted May 31, 2014 pray when i was a new Christian, i thought every pastor prayed at least three hours a day. i believe much prayer is a prerequisite for preparing to do God's will. Evangelism is birthed in prayer. lead leaders are involved in defining truth in contrast with errors, and defending from spiritual dangers. Leading involves being an example, and preparing others to bring Christ into their world. It can involve administrative responsibilities, but i see it as leading the members in evangelism. nurture spiritual nurturing is more then hand holding. it is recognizing the work of the Holy Spirit who is the true source of all comfort and wisdom and encourage and strength, and working with the Holy Spirit to build up the character of Christ in every believer. joeb Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 There is one thing that a pastor must be. He must be like Abraham and be the friend of God. If he is that, all other blessings will flow from him. Why? Because he will know God on an intimate level, and because of that he will be filled with the love of God. That will make him fair, just, caring, merciful, and allow him to be able to introduce his flock to his Friend. If he does not know God intimately he cannot introduce others to God for he cannot give to others what he himself does not possess. If he has that friendship with God that brings with it the intimate knowledge of God God will bless him with the skills and words he needs to lead his flock.
