Members phkrause Posted February 25, 2015 Author Members Posted February 25, 2015 To Have Strong Families Jim & Kaye Johns Father, I pray for (name one or more) and others in my circle of family and friends to have Christ-centered families... Help them train their children in the way they should live, and give the children hearts to honor and obey their moms and dads. May the fathers not exasperate their children but bring them up to understand how You want them to live. (1 Corinthians 11:3; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:1,4) May every husband love his wife as he loves himself, as Christ loved and was willing to give Himself up for the church. Help husbands not be harsh with their wives but be considerate, treating them with respect so their prayers won’t be hindered. (Ephesians 5:33a, 25; Colossians 3:19; 1 Peter 3:7) May each wife respect her husband and submit to him as to the Lord, as the church submits to Christ. As all of us are to do, may they submit to one another out of reverence for Christ, each looking to the interests of the other. (Ephesians 5:33b, 22, 21; Philippians 2:4) Keep their families strong and together; help them to be givers and not takers. In Jesus' name, Amen. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

For blue of stream and blue of sky, For pleasant shade of branches high, For fragrant air and cooling breeze, For beauty of the blooming trees, Father in heaven, we thank Thee! Members phkrause Posted February 28, 2015 Author Members Posted February 28, 2015 Teacher's Prayer for Snow John Hillen Oh Lord, let it snow. Let it drift and let it blow. In the morning, no real fuss, Just enough to stop the bus. Enough to make the county say: "There will be no school today." Let the radio report: "Snow's deep!" And I'll roll over for more sleep. Then later on, say maybe ten, I'll turn the radio on again. Just in time to hear them say: "It's strange, the snow has gone away." And then I'll know, You made it stop. So I can go to the mall and shop. Please Lord, just hear my teacher's plea, And make it snow for the kids and me. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

He makes me to go to many meetings. He leads me to sit back, relax, and listen with an open mind, He restores my soul, my sanity, and my health. He leads me in the path of sobriety, serenity, and fellowship for my own sake. He teaches me to think, to take it easy, to live and let live, and do first things first. He makes me more humble and grateful. He teaches me to accept the things I cannot change, to change the things I can, and gives me the wisdom to know the difference. Yea, though I walk through the valley of despair, frustration, guilt, and remorse, I will fear no evil. For Thou are with me, your program, your way of life, your twelve steps, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: rationalization, fear, anxiety, self-pity, resentment. You anoint my confused mind and jangled nerves with knowledge, understanding, and hope. No longer am I alone, neither am I afraid, nor sickened, nor helpless, nor hopeless. My cups runs over, Surely sobriety and serenity shall follow me every day of my life, one day at a time, twenty-four hours at a time. As I surrender my will to You and carry Your message to others, I will dwell in the house of Higher Power, as I understand him, one day at a time, forever and ever. Amen Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Do this for them and with them, Lord, so that they may speed according to your will and thus ruled and protected by you, always and everywhere, may they come at last to glory and eternal rest, through you who are living and reigning God, through all ages. Members phkrause Posted March 17, 2015 Author Members Posted March 17, 2015 Show Me the Path to Health Heather Kopp Dear God, I admit that I have come to both love and hate the word "diet." On the one hand, it represents hope for change. On the other, it's like a sign flashing "Failure ahead!" I don't want to embark on another faulty plan, Lord. I want to embark on a journey with You that is led by You and depends on Your power. I can do nothing on my own! Show me the path that will enable me to change. Show me, as only You can, what works for me, what is healthy for me. I want to think of this venture in positive terms, Lord -- not that I am signing up to be miserable or in want. I want to learn to feed my body what it truly needs when it truly needs it. And to feed my soul with the Bread of Life -- You! Today I place my future, my failures, my setbacks, all of my hopes and plans into Your hands. There alone will I find meaning and true success in my life. Amen. Members phkrause Posted March 19, 2015 Author Members Posted March 19, 2015 In the Face of Fertility Challenges Jennifer Saake Lord, help me to know that You are enough. Take my eyes off of myself. Take my eyes off of the child I desire. Help me to delight myself in You. Mold the desires of my heart to be in line with Your will. I don't want to need to be a mother more than I need to be your humble, obedient child. I don't want wanting to have a baby to be a stumbling block between You and me anymore. Lord, I want to give this desire, this drive, this ache up to You. Help me not to snatch it back as I so often do with the burdens I place in Your hands. Help me to be truly content with Your will and Your timing. Lord, You know that I still desire a baby - someone to mold, teach, train, shape, guide, and help to grow in You. But until the day You give me that joyous blessing, help me to grow in You. Let me reach out to those around me. Let me witness and minister to the children You place in my path. Lord, if adoption is the path You would have us take, prepare our hearts, and prepare the child who will share our home. If adoption is not Your will for our lives, keep me from pushing ahead of Your plan. Help me to stay submitted to my husband's will, and to Your will. If we are headed in the wrong direction, change our hearts. Thank You for lifting my burden. Help me to keep You first! Let me seek Your face daily, and let me know that You are enough! Members phkrause Posted March 25, 2015 Author Members Posted March 25, 2015 To Be Humble in Spirit Jim & Kaye Johns Father, I'm praying for (name one or more) and others in my circle of family or friends to know the importance of humbling themselves... May they choose to humble themselves before You and before Christ, for we know You detest the proud of heart. You live in a high and holy place and with those who are contrite and humble. (Daniel 10:12; James 4:10; Proverbs 16:5a; Isaiah 57:15) May they desire to be like Christ, gentle and humble in heart, living in harmony with one another, compassionate and sympathetic, loving each other—not trying to pay back hurts or insults but instead responding with blessings. May they be willing to submit to You and each other out of reverence for Christ. (Matthew 11:29b; 1 Peter 3:8–9; James 4:7; Ephesians 5:21) May they be willing to humble themselves before You, for if they will, Your Word says You will guide them in what is right and teach them Your way, giving them grace and esteeming them in Your sight. Help them to show true humility toward all people, to clothe themselves with humility. (Psalm 25:9; Proverbs 3:34; Isaiah 66:2b; Titus 3:2b; 1 Peter 5:5b) Make them daily more sensitive to pride in their lives, that they may confess it as the sin it is. In the power of the Spirit, may they choose humility over pride at every turn. In Jesus' name, Amen.
