Father, I'm praying for these (name them) who are serving in ministries or are on mission for You...

For those who travel or live abroad, supply translators for them as needed, those who know the language so well they're able to communicate clearly. Enable those who are trying to learn the language to quickly become fluent. May they all speak Your truth boldly to those who will listen, and help those who hear to understand it with their hearts. Let there be no misunderstanding. (Acts 4:29, 31; 28:27b; 2:4–6)

Wherever they are, help them to share the gospel not just with words but with the power and assurance of the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. May Your Word be recognized not as the word of men but as it really is—the Word of God. May those to whom they witness accept it as Your truth, Your message to them, and use it to change their lives, for Your Word will accomplish its purpose. (1 Thessalonians 1:5; 2:13; Isaiah 55:11)

Whenever they have the opportunity to talk to someone, give them Your words to share. Help them speak the simple truth of the gospel, helping them not to trust their own words but in the Spirit who speaks through them, especially if they encounter people who want to resist or contradict what they're trying to say. (Ephesians 6:19; Matthew 10:19b–20; Luke 21:15)

The Mind

We have all heard the phrase “A Mind is a terrible thing to waste.” How true that statement is. What we think about can create blessings or it can attract harmful things in our lives. Our way of thinking is the start of how we react to certain situations, how we treat one another, how we bless one another and how we view our lives as individuals. Our mind is the connection to our heart that connects to our inner being which resonates through our outer being and changes the atmosphere that can turn an entire situation around for the good or the bad. Before doing a study on the mind, heart and spirit, I never knew how each educes from one another and how it is important they are in sync at all times. Not only that, how it affect others around us. (Think about that for a moment) I challenge you today to not waste your mind on thoughts that do not display your creativity or bring out the best that lies deep within each of you. Let’s be more in tune with each part internally that will give balance but mostly allure to the greater that will surface externally.

Father God, help produce in me the right mind set that will change my way of thinking about others, things and mainly me.

May they seek You, finding their refuge in You, being willing to keep their hands clean and their hearts pure. May they worship You, giving You the glory due Your name and walking in the light of Your presence. May they fear You with reverence and awe, living upright lives in unity with others. (Psalm 119:2b; 2:12b; 24:4–5; 29:1–2; 89:15; 112:1–2; 133:1, 3)

Help them not to try deceiving themselves or anyone else about their sins—least of all You—but to confess them, knowing they'll be forgiven. Help them to trust You alone, living in humility, without loving or trusting anyone or anything more than You. (Psalm 32:1–2; 1 John 1:8–9; Psalm 40:4)

May they be kind and help the weak, choosing to live in Your presence, praising You, setting their hearts on finding You. (Psalm 41:1–2; 84:4, 5b)

An Avalanche of Blessings

Perhaps the invisible shield we hang over our children is made up of the values we instill in them, our desperate caring, our prayer for their safety. So we turn to prayer—for our children and maybe just as much for ourselves. We join our concern with God's—the divine parent who loves them even more than we do.

We do not pray for our children in some wishful way, superstitiously trying to prevent all harm. Instead we take an active stance that recognizes our human limitations at the same time it bows before God's power. "I will do everything I can to keep them safe," we say. "But I'm imperfect. I call on you, great God and loving parent, to protect them when I cannot." We ask for an avalanche of blessings, all the best God has in store for them.
