JimTN Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Seeing that I grew up in the 1950s in a secular Presbyterian family and we had a TV, there were several old b&w TV shows that I enjoyed... The Outer Limits, The Twilight Zone, Perry Mason, The Millionaire, Leave It To Beaver, Sea Hunt, Sky King, Life of Riley -- currently I'm enjoying the old re-runs of Rawhide... There's an interesting difference in watching b&w shows as compared to color shows, and it has something to do with how the eye is wired -- rods inside the eye see b&w, cones see color -- the rods are set up to have better vision at night in low light (when we can't see color) -- so b&w TV shows and old b&w movies have a "dreamier" feel to them, unlike the full-color bright daytime things we see! David Clement Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Yep, yep, I watch a lot of the old shows. Some in b/w. I like 'the waltons', 'adam 12', 'emergency', 'wanted dead or alive'(steve mcqueen)*. 'F Troop' sometimes too, I like the silly humor. My favorite movie channel is TCM because they show everything in its entirety. No commercials. I'm so fed-up with commercials, especially all the pharmaceutical adds. Quote

Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted June 12, 2014 Members Posted June 12, 2014 I love the old TV shows... and really have no interest in current programs. My all-time favorites are The Flintstones, Gilligan's' Island, Bonanza, Perry Mason and Murder She Wrote. Plus the old Walt Disney movies... Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Aliensanctuary Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I learned everything I know from watching Gilligan's Island, the Beverly Hillbillies, and the Three Stooges. Quote The Parable of the Lamb and the Pigpen https://www.createspace.com/3401451
