sorry to be a stick in the mud, but the Review report is rather misleading....

Quote:
The Gallup Great Workplace Award is based on rigorous workplace research. A panel of experts assesses each applicant based on their 2013 employee engagement results and their application portfolio.

"application portfolio" means that AHS applied for the award

Quote:
This year, AHS is one of 36 organizations chosen to receive the award.

AHS was not the *best* place to work. It was just chosen as one of 36 organizations who completed the requirements to earn the Gallup Great Workplace Award, which included the fact that an organization needed to have at least 1000 employees. And the employees completed a survey regarding their workplace (pressure to comply???):

Gallup Great Workplace Award Criteria

The Gallup Great Workplace Award was created to recognize companies with an extraordinary ability to create an engaged workplace culture. Organizations that meet the criteria to apply for this award will receive a formal invitation to apply each year from Gallup. If your organization receives the formal invitation, Gallup encourages you to Distinguish Your Excellence by submitting an application. A panel of judges will review all applications and select winners for each of the award categories. Organizations must meet the following criteria to be invited to apply:

~ a total of at least 1,000 respondents representing a census of the organization

~ a response rate of 80% or higher among all eligible employees

~ a GrandMean score of 4.15 or higher in at least 50% of the eligible workgroups

~ a demonstrated link between engagement and business outcomes

Starting on November 15, 2013, the online application will be available at: www.gallup.com/ggwa_application. All applications must be submitted by Feb. 14, 2014. The following components are required for a complete application:

~ An online application with specific questions regarding engagement within your organization

~ A PowerPoint presentation (up to 10 slides) detailing how your organization has linked engagement to business outcomes; analysis can focus on trends at the organizational or workgroup level (If available, individual-level analysis, (as provided by Gallup,) can be showcased.)

~ Official company logo (.eps or .ai file formats)

The 2014 awards are based on Q12 administrations conducted between Jan. 1, 2013, and Dec. 31, 2013. Winners will be notified by March 20, 2014. All award winners will be honored at the Gallup Spring Summit event, held May 13-14, 2014, in Omaha, Nebraska.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

An assisted toot your own horn contest...

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

*Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.

(And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

It is the same as J D POWERS awards. You apply and then they do a one year run of their program...paid out of your own pocket.
