Moderators Gerr Posted July 4, 2014 Moderators Posted July 4, 2014 What should we do about illegal immigration especially now with the thousands of children crossing the border? Quote

Aliensanctuary Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I think a huge camp should be set up on the White House lawn, along with portable toilets, showers, and tents, for all those illegals welcomed by this administration. They can stay there until our useless government decides to act in the better interests of those of us who are forced to pay income taxes. Administrators Naomi Posted July 5, 2014 Administrators Posted July 5, 2014 Open borders and a welfare system are ultimately mutually exclusive. That is a broad statement; please explain Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
Sojourner Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 There are two things I can think of, 1, look for ways to help improve the standard of living, safety and prosperity in those nations so that people dont feel that they have to come over the border for a better life. 2, Send a delegation over to Australia to meet with conservative Prime Minister Tony Abbott and speak with him about how in just over six months he has stopped a large number of people from making these journeys to Australia from Indonesia. The previous left wing government had seen over 1000 people drowned trying to make those voyages here in rickety fishing boats, they had footage at one time of people attempting to land in stormy conditions on Christmas Island, off the northern coast of Australia and being swept into the sea and smashed into the rocks and so forth, it was a terrible tragedy to witness, yet Prime Minister Abbott's cruel to be kind measures have saved a number of lives and are worth looking into. Moderators Gerr Posted July 5, 2014 Author Moderators Posted July 5, 2014 Re: your suggestion #1. I have asked myself why American businesses did not go south of our border and beyond who are for the most part, either friendly or neutral towards the USA to help raise their standard of living. Instead, they moved their factories to an avowed enemy in communist China! Now we are facing a two-headed monster in China and the influx of illegals. Quote
Aliensanctuary Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Taxes and welfare grumbling aside, it is important that we take care of the needy and the helpless, and I suppose if we conduct ourselves as Christ did, we should even be willing to go hungry so they can eat. Sojourner Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 This is an interesting quote from Jesus upon studying it, I do wonder if what He is saying here is that there will be perpetually be people in poverty for the rest of time, I suspect until He returns? - Matthew 26:11 "You will have the poor with you every day for the rest of your lives, but not me".
