I read it as 2 different things. One is something *we* would do; the other is something that has been done *for* us. NKJ 1 John 5:18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. (1Jo 5:18 NKJ) Who of us could say that we have been "born of God" - after reading these two verses. I see another "birth" - and that will be the day when we are transformed in an instant - when we each receive an immortal spiritual body. How about the day that we each receive our "new name". Aliensanctuary Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I see the "born again" references as referring to the future when those who are chosen are literally born again into new, genetically pure bodies. With all memories of evil deleted and with the laws of the Kingdom programmed into their minds, they cannot transgress the laws of the Kingdom because their minds will not allow them to do so. Although some may say and believe that they are "born again" I don't think that that is the case, yet. Because those who claim to be born again continue to transgress the Laws of the Kingdom in some way or another, it is just a figure of speech that is really referring to the future. Interesting idea, but I think they're both referring to the same event, that is, our old human bodies replaced with a new body untainted with genetic defects.
