M. T. Cross Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 My 20 year old son was told yesterday that if he does not get a new heart, he may only have a year and a half or so to live. Very hard to come to grips with that. Quote

Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted July 27, 2014 Members Posted July 27, 2014 aww, M T, I'm so sorry! :( Hopefully, his physicians will accelerate his workup and get him on the transplant list expediently! If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
JoeMo Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 M.T. My friend - That sucks so bad! The worst things that can happen to a parent! My condolences and prayers are with you and your family. Quote

Administrators Gail Posted July 27, 2014 Administrators Posted July 27, 2014 That is tough news, for sure, but families go through even the hard things together. Love is bigger than anything. Let your son and your wife know that you and they are loved here MT, please keep us updated, okay? Moderators Gerr Posted July 27, 2014 Moderators Posted July 27, 2014 Wow! What a tough issue to deal with! If we pray for him so he could get a new heart, it means one has to give up his! But we'll pray for grace to sustain you both. Quote
M. T. Cross Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Thank you all so much. I am a big believer that positive energy and prayers can be a huge help. This is the result he got from the family doctor. So from here on out its specialists and blood thinning treatments 3 times a week. We are hoping that a specialist will have a less severe prognosis, but until then we are treating the situation as though this diagnosis is accurate. The great annoyance is that my wife has been bugging doctors since he was very little to check his heart as something about the rhythm of it seemed off to her. So when the doctor told him its something that has been there his whole life...... well........ Quote
LifeHiscost Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 M. T. Cross, just know, you have many who are lifting your son and your family up in prayer. God is Love! Jesus saves! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted July 28, 2014 Moderators Posted July 28, 2014 I am not a physician. I am not a cardiologist. But what you have said in post 704287 reminds me of corrective procedures that were performed regularly in the hospital where I worked. IOW, there may be corrective treatment. Quote Gregory
