Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted July 31, 2014 Moderators Posted July 31, 2014 IBM has developed a software program that helps to prevent financial fraud, primarily with people who contact their bank over the Internet. It is not an antivirus program. It is very specific for financial fraud for internet banking transactions. IBM sells this program to banks who then provide it to their customers free of charge. It is currently selling this program to many U.S. banks and also banks in other countries. The program is called: TRUSTEER RAPPORT (TR). If you do Internet banking, you may want to contact your bank to see if they are providing it to their customers. If you are not engaged in financial transactions over the Internet, you may not need it. TR is compatible with many anti virus/spyware programs as well as many other programs. Some people have claimed that it did not work well with some programs installed on their computers. So, before you download it, you can view a compatibility list. Again, you can obtain it free from you bank, if your bank is giving it to their customers. Check with your bank to find out and to obtain instructions as to how to download the program. Quote Gregory
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted July 31, 2014 Members Posted July 31, 2014 too bad it isn't compatible with Chrome... Aliensanctuary Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I just contacted our banks and requested that internet access to our accounts be disabled. Hope that prevents any unauthorized internet access to our $$$. We don't use debit cards anymore, either. Except for cell phone access for balance and transaction history, we should be safer by writing checks only. I probably should use land-line only for account access, or, like the old days, update the register balance frequently, then wait each month for a printed account statement.
