Administrators Naomi Posted August 8, 2014 Administrators Posted August 8, 2014 Beautiful, thank you ... I must say, I appreciate being greeted with a "Happy Sabbath" Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
Administrators Gail Posted August 8, 2014 Administrators Posted August 8, 2014 Me, too! May you rest in the blessing of the day :) Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Sojourner Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 Has been a great sabbath, we went to Bible Study Fellowship on Friday night then we had the children's choir feature in the 10am meeting followed by sabbath school then a pot luck lunch, then a trip to the botanical gardens for afternoon tea. I reflected this afternoon on how blessed I feel to have made a number of new friends, I have been invited by one of the members there who is setting up a "mens shed meeting" where men get together and make stuff and fellowship in that environment, he feels called by God to set up a mens ministry at church and this is how he wants to go ahead with it. Very pleased and very encouraged that our local fellowship gets behind ideas like this and gives people a chance to use their gifts in service. In any event it was a great day and I guess you guys are around half way into yours by now, so I hope you are enjoying the day, wherever you are and whatever you are doing! Quote

Men seldom get involved with the [traditionally female-oriented] community services (aka Dorcas) of individual churches. Giving them a "place of their own" to make things and fellowship would really fill a gap. (didn't mean to derail the thread, but this just struck me as such a cool thing to do...) Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
