Yes, Stan, it has, at least in my opinion. We are, as a church, and unfortunately, a product of our society at least as much as we are a product of Biblical truths. And, our society has been taught by the liberal elite and the educational system in this country that "me first" is the way things are supposed to be. Everywhere we look in the media, the educational system, etc... the very idea of self-sacrifice is ridiculed and held up as ancient, out-of-date, thinking. What we see in society is reflected in the church. This is one of the reasons I'm conservative, both politically and theologically.
