rasell Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I've released a new book, "the investigative judgement: am I saved?". The summary is as follows: The question that perplexes many Christians is how can I be sure I am saved? The topic of the investigative judgement, a heavenly tribunal that investigates the cases of professed believers sheds some light on this question. There can be no greater event in history, yet very few are interested in the results of this tribunal which affects the destiny of everyone who has ever lived on earth. A battle rages over the souls of men, a battle which also includes the vindication of God’s character and law. The investigative judgement is one of the most exciting doctrines in the Bible, because it reveals Christ as the all powerful Mediator. JimTN Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I've released a new book, "the investigative judgement: am I saved?". The summary is as follows: Marc, is there a reason for not capitalising the title of your book?.... I hope the printer didn't typeset the title on the book that way.... <grin> Stan 1 Quote
rasell Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 Marc, is there a reason for not capitalising the title of your book?.... I hope the printer didn't typeset the title on the book that way.... <grin> It is capitalised on the book itself, I just didn't use caps on this post, hope you don't mind. The book is now available on amazon. Marc Stan 1 Quote
JimTN Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 My wife is a book editor -- and I'm a published author/artist -- unfortunately, I tend to think that things should be written properly -- when people type "bible" instead of Bible, to me it shows that they are either lazy, uneducated, or disrespectful... and believe it or not, writing on forums is a form of "publishing" one's words, and these forums go all around the world. People read it. People see it. And the rules of language dictate the proper usage of capitals vs. small case letters, punctuation and all that -- sorry, it's just another of those "petty things" that I hold as important. That's reason that all our computer keyboards have the "CAPS" key on them, so we'd USE them.... <grin>... and God even says that He will be judging us by our words, so I'd rather not let Him see me being "unprofessional" with how I write all those words He has to read through! "...god bless you, marc, in all you do..." See? Awkward without those wonderful CAPS! Quote

You are correct, I suppose I always have been more interested in the ideas and concepts that the visual appearance/spelling etc. of what I write. I wish I had an editor willing to help me. Interestingly the original manuscripts for the New Testament were written in all CAPS with no punctuation. Marc Quote

JimTN Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 And it has always bothered me that website addresses are usually always written in lower case letters! It just really bugs me -- but it's how the Internet system is set up -- I always appreciate it when websites put in the Caps anyway, like www.AdventTruth.co.UK could be written... Yes, at different times and places throughout history there were different rules of writing -- I'm still baffled that Hebrew reads from right to left... it must have something to do with God confounding the languages at the Tower of Babel where He came up with THOUSANDS of different ways for people to talk and communicate! I'm sure that you have entertained the alternative possibility that reading from left to right might have been a result of God's action at Babel. There are other languages that are read from right to left. It's natural to assume that OUR norm is THE norm. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. JimTN Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I guess the only way to know what was "first" would be to eventually see how the angels wrote down the records of our lives in the Books of Heaven to be used in the Judgment! The Tower of Babel event happened long before the 1st Hebrew (Abraham) came onto the scene -- and all the writings of the Antediluvians were lost in the Flood... Quote

My guess is that angels started using video cameras about 100 years ago! Why write a narritve when you can actually have it on "tape".
