Fran Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 We should have a Polly's Place in every conference area. Abuse is so much more that just physical or verbal abuse. It is many, many things. Yes, spiritual abuse is a high scorer. Not just clergy, but Head Elders, Elders, Head Deacons, Deacons, Sabbath School teachers; Pathfinder Leaders. No one is immune. The one that ripped my heart out was an abused male that felt he had to stay married to his wife because she or he never committed adultery. After 40 years, the State stepped in and hospitalized this psycho wife. The abuse left him a shell of a man empty to the core barely existing. It upset me so badly I had to set the surveys away and took 2 days before I went back to the stats needed for Polly's in SWU. Too many people do not realize what abuse is, or is not. I may dig up my 4 page list and post it. Abuse in any form sets me off. If you have never been abused, you have a tendency to just not get it. Those that have been abused, get it in a very big, big way. Read what Mabel has to say as Stan suggested. You won't be sorry. Also read just a minor part of what Spiritual Abuse can be.
