Sojourner Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Greetings all, I realise that this may be like looking for a needle in a haystack, yet I would like to give it a go anyway! We have a small community Christian radio station that rebroadcasts content from 3ABN along with their own material, recently on the way to work I came on on the end of a sermon from an elderly Pastor, I am not sure if he is still alive or not, I am sure they said it was a "classic sermon". So I am hoping you may recognise it from the small piece of content that I can offer. The chap was preaching from the book of Daniel, he was talking about Technology and how there had been a rise and then a fall in technology before our modern era. He spoke specifically on the Phoenician sailing ships of the 12th century and made the point that these ships were far more technologically advanced in design than the British ships of the 17th century. He gave some other examples also which I cant recall, yet in essence he was showing examples of how Technology had been more advanced in the 12 century and then had yet receded until the last 100 years or so and he discussed why it was that the people of the 12th century had not seen the explosion in technology that we have. Essentially this evolved around a scripture in Daniel where it says something along the lines of that a sudden increase in technology would be a sign of the last age of the earth. I am sorry that this is not a great deal to go on, yet if any of that makes sense to anyone and you can point me in the right direction, it would be very much appreciated, I would love to hear it in its entirety and to take down the notes of the scriptures mentioned! Members phkrause Posted September 28, 2014 Members Posted September 28, 2014 Maybe you could call the station you were listening to and as them if they know! Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted September 28, 2014 Members Posted September 28, 2014 please let us know if you find where to hear (or read) the sermon -- It sounds like it would be VERY interesting! Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Moderators Kevin H Posted September 28, 2014 Moderators Posted September 28, 2014 Yes, contacting the radio station and giving the time and date of the sermon should help as they have their program guides. Quote
Sojourner Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 Although it was not the same sermon, I heard the same gentleman on the radio today, the promo was 3ABN Classic Sermon Series "Joe Crews". I have not found that particular sermon yet but at least now have the speaker! Quote
Members phkrause Posted November 14, 2014 Members Posted November 14, 2014 Sojourner, Joe Crews was the founder of Amazing Facts. Doug Batchelor worked for him. So maybe if you go to there site and search back you might find his stuff. Oh and by the way, he died a number of years ago.
