A person traveling from Liberia to the United States has been diagnosed with Ebola, Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told reporters Tuesday. The person, whose identity was not released, left Liberia on September 19 and arrived in the United States on September 20, he said. At that time, the person did not have symptoms. "But four or five days later" that person began to show symptoms, Frieden said. The person was hospitalized and isolated Sunday at a hospital in Texas, he said.

 

A patient being treated at a Dallas, Texas, hospital is the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Tuesday.

Several other Americans were diagnosed in West Africa and then brought to the United States for treatment.

The person who first tested positive for Ebola in the United States is a patient at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, hospital spokesman Stephen O'Brien said Tuesday.

The adult patient developed symptoms days after returning to Texas from West Africa, and was admitted into isolation on Sunday, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

The CDC is expected to provide more details on the case in a press conference at 5:30 p.m.

The Ebola outbreak has been centered in the West African countries of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, though there have been concerns about international air travel and other factors -- including the fact the symptoms might not appear until two to 21 days after one is infected -- may contribute to its spread.

More than 3,000 people in West Africa have died after being infected with Ebola, according to a World Health Organization report from last week. The same report stated that there had been 6,553 cases of the virus overall, though the number is suspected of being much higher given difficulties in tracking and reporting the disease.

According to the CDC, Ebola causes viral hemorrhagic fever, which can affect multiple organ systems in the body and are often accompanied by bleeding. Early symptoms include sudden onset of fever, weakness, muscle pain, headaches and a sore throat, each of which can be easily mistaken early on for other ailments like malaria, typhoid fever, meningitis or even the plague.

(Natural Health is one of the top five worst internet health websites fraught with misinformation and bogus claims.  They put in just enough verifiable truth to make entire claims on issues appear legit.  But if research is done on the claims, it's very apparent that much of it is only sensationalist unverifiable nonsense.)

What would be helpful is to post statements they make and make a counter-claim with back-up truth by you.

 

I see some extemism going on with the articles but have tossed to the side what I can put into practice with my lifestyle.

However, many have been the time when I read their articles and copied the good to a file.

Beside that the workings of the body in response to natural herbal medicine is what I am interested in at present and they certainly have given me loads of info I didn't know about before.

 

Perhaps I'll start demonizing them when I have cause to. As of now I'll keep on reading what they send me.

that's ridiculous... anyone who believes that quote never did due diligence by reading the actual pertinent executive orders.... the specific illnesses addressed are:  Cholera; Diphtheria; infectious Tuberculosis; Plague; Smallpox; Yellow Fever; Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers; and SARS.  The particular EO cited by Natural Health involved SARS...  Simply "having the sniffles or coughing in public" is NOT addressed in the EO as a reason for quarantine, nor for the more hysteria-inducing claim of eradication of human life.

Thank you for your thorough effort to give the many what I consider to be very valuable information. Being a vegetarian, but seeing vegan as best and being responsible for the health of an invalid spouse, I make effort to follow strict health principle. OTOH, knowing my shortcomings as a cook, as well as a somewhat deficient disciplinarian, I lay both our major reason for primary health benefits (no colds or flu without medications for a minimum of the last ten years) to the grace of this promise below.

Simple hygenic practises go far in preventing Ebola (and a lot of other things). We just don't live like they do in Africa.

I agree that one day before Jesus comes we can look for at least one dreadful plague of sores but if you have the mark of the beast not even your immunity will save you then.

Having just read from the Word and watched a movie, the Ten Commandments, the last plagues before the Israelites were cast out of Egypt, none of the deadly plagues touched the land of Goshen where the chosen of God were living.

I am somewhat acustom with American language habits. One of them that gets used a lot is the 'hyperbole'.

It's a way of emphasizing what you are saying by describing it as far more extreme than it really is.

So we need to keep a merciful margin of tolerance for emotional prophetic expression as in this case of Mike Adams saying "even having the sniffles and coughing in public could get you quarantined and killed in a pandemic outbreak". He's envisioning how total governmental control might be used to fight invasion of epidemics. Eventually it could (not will) cause extreme measures in stopping the spread. His perspective was future in possibly happening. Not in the next handful of months coming.

 

It brings me to mentally view my mind's media pictures of mobs raiding the stores after the awful huricanes damage. Fear of not having food or water drives out desparate measures from us in seemingly hopeless cases. I didn't expect such looting and damaging to come from people raised in a so called christian nation. And so also we don't expect American leaders to go to such extremes in the future when a coughing sneezing person is out in public when fear of Ebola (or other viruses) get rampant. But.... measures in a just way will be hard to implement when fear is the driving factor.

Thanks so much for bringing this verse to our attention. It was the first promise God gave the Hebrews just after Pharaoh’s horses, chariots and horsemen went into the sea. What a bit of comfort and release from worry they got from those words. The God of Abraham was still strange to them and so they were not sure how He would deal with them. 

 

Yes, it's true that the Hebrews didn't experience the plagues put upon the Egyptians. And it is truth that after the living become the mark on their foreheads from God's angel as the mark of the beast gets put on the babylon worldly unbelievers, that they as believers won't be touched by the plagues poured out from the bowls of wrath.

 

The malignant sores, the sea turns to blood so all fish dies so no food source there, all the drinkable fresh water sources also gets turned to blood so thirst kills many, or they get broiled to death by the scorch of the sun, or they can't move about because they can't see their hand before their eyes for the awful darkness, and many get killed in the terrible earthquake accompanied by big hail stones.

 

We living to that time believers will be spared all that when we have the mark of God on our foreheads.

 

Before those mark-of-the-beast last-days begin we believers live with the here and now.

What is our stand in faith that we will not die from some pestilence?

Are there certain conditions to fulfill to be protected from pandemics touching us believers?

Do we have the right to make a claim of protection from disease of deadly magnitude?

Have to side with Pam on this one.....

To use an OLD arguement, Satan doesn't poison you outright...he first gives  you something that you like.....for example, soda  ...or a birthday cake.....and poisons it accordingly.....

it is the philsophy of fear that immobolises people and that people panick over....People LOVE the sensational, and to quote some newspaper guy, "nothing sell papers like bad news".....That is why we have conspiracys, and out breaks of some plague and revelation seminars.....all of this is to show us how bad others have been...or to justify our inner self as we say "I'm glad that I am not like THAT SINNER!"....

When we follow the Lord, we may not avoid the consequences of sin, but God does forgive us our transgressions....especially when we do all we can to point out that what we did WAS a mistake.....and life is better with the promises from God that He will make things better inspite of us.....
