Administrators Gail Posted October 20, 2014 Administrators Posted October 20, 2014 “Every time God forgives us, God is saying that God's own rules do not matter as much as the relationship that God wants to create with us.” ― Richard Rohr Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
CoAspen Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Man calls them rules, God calls them natural laws. Like the law of gravity, If God is the originator of such then he can suspend them, when needed. Nothing in the Bible, when properly understood, says that God views those natural laws as more important then His created beings, other wise why the plan of salvation!! Quote
LifeHiscost Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 “Every time God forgives us, God is saying that God's own rules do not matter as much as the relationship that God wants to create with us.” ― Richard Rohr I would like to suggest that if the rules are not adhered to, the relationship will never develop to a lasting friendship. 15"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16"I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;…John 14 God is Love! joeb Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Gail, I would say the author of that statement doesn't really understand God in the least. His rules, and His people, matter so much to Him that He sacrificed His own Son to do four things: 1. To show how much His rules really matter. 2. To show how much His loves His people. 3. To show what His rules really are. 4. To show it is possible to lives according to His rules. Aliensanctuary Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Do migrating birds and insects ever ask why they must travel hundreds or thousands of miles every year? Their behaviors, along with the behaviors of the rest of animal and insect life, are programmed into their DNA, and they all faithfully execute their programming without thinking about it. Many of the enlightened elite call these programmed behaviors "instinct", thus bypassing the elegant design factor of a superintelligence. Ultimately, to protect YHVH's future Earthly civilization, the humans chosen to join his kingdom will have its rules, regulations, and behaviors programmed into their minds. Like the migrating creatures in this life, they won't have to think about what they are doing or even choose to obey or not, they just do it automatically. All transgressors of YHVH's rules can and will be forgiven, but they must first accept him as their Master and then allow themselves to be reprogrammed in order to bring them into compliance. Deliberately violating his laws in this life will make it much more difficult to make the right choice between YHVH and Satan, between the self-discipline of Good and the fleeting, self-destructive pleasures of Evil. Moderators Gerr Posted October 22, 2014 Moderators Posted October 22, 2014 The statement would be true had Jesus not paid for the penalty of transgressing God's law. It is precisely because God's law is immutable and could not be broken with impunity that Jesus HAD to die. Quote
Moderators Gerr Posted October 22, 2014 Moderators Posted October 22, 2014 The more I think about the opening statement, the more I think it is totally erroneous. I dare say, NO relationship is possible without the rule of law. Quote
