aka Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 When doing PC work I have background music of God-praise coming out of my speakers. I use my IE browser for the URL because it seems to automaticly connect with Windows Media Player. Then I minimise the player and adjust the sound level. I close down the browser because it is not necessarily needed. I jump around to other browsers or just keep up the on-going organisation of folders and files I've been doing. http://www.hymnsandfavorites.com/haf.asx RudyEnext, Ekbergwed and Johann 3 Quote
Johann Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 This was my favorite, but then I lost the connection. Thank you for providing a workable link which also connects my Galaxy Android. Nice hymns for the day as well as the evening where it creates a spiritual link before falling asleep at nnight. Quote
Johann Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Now that I have been listening again for a while I'd say the music is becoming slightly more modernized than before. I miss the older style. Quote
aka Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 I certainly feel the same way. The older familiar praise songs of traditional bible content is what I aim for, along with a pleasant music arrangement. I looked and found this: http://www.live365.com/genres/traditional%20gospel?mode=3 It has three pages of 10 radio stations each to activate on choice. They are individual radio stations with a themes and seem to all play 24/7. I didn't stay long to do a thorough check but hope you may hear a station that gives what you find as uplifting. Quote
Johann Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 It brought me back to Hymns and Favorites - and their program has improved the last couple of days. Quote
aka Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 I like the word wonderful. Tell me what you were thinking about as you posted the word above...wonderful. Quote

JoeMo Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I am totally blessed by "The Message" on Sirius XM. It is more contemporary music; and they "amp it up" after 11PM on weekends. It's just about the only thing I listen to in my car. I do appreciate the modern makeovers of some classic hymns; like Chris Tomlin's "Amazing Grace/Chains are Gone". I also like a lot of Matt Redman's stuff. I wish I could handle listening to music at work. It distracts me (especially if it is a favorite song); and I can't concentrate. Quote
aka Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 Music can be used indeed like medicine for the soul. It all comes down to the individual's perference. Mostly formed in young years by what is heard at home, in the media or church. I don't really, come to think about it, choose music. I just respond to it. My mood and need of the moment plays a vital part in my ability to absorb what comes to my ears. What is enjoyable to me as a Baby Boomer generation product is most likely to irritate the Millenillal generation or X-generation gang. I would not categorize such as a moral issue. However, it is undeniable that evil influence is found in the heavy metal or rock music that's streams out of the media devices. I'm convinced there is spiritual music (not necessarily connected to church) and there is carnal music. Perhaps there is also another category of music I can't at this moment put my thoughts on. JoeMo Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 "However, it is undeniable that evil influence is found in the heavy metal or rock music that's streams out of the media devices." IMO, there is no such thing as evil music - just evil lyrics. The music to some of our most famous hymns started out as the music to drinking songs. Change the words; and voila - you have a hymn! aka Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 IMO, just take the lyrics away and get the rockers to substitute english text by singing the Korean text and the effect on the nervous system is the same. Violence swells up, heartbeat like in coitus gets forced, carnal other instincts for attack in impatience with others happens, or nervous after-effects acompany the one who has a steady diet of rock music or heavy metal. Evil is the efforts of Satan's demons to pull anyone away from the wooing influence of God's holy Spirit in giving guidance to the individual. The desire to speak with Jesus as friend to friend is dead, the mind is full with negative thinking. Just look at the life of Ozzy Osborn drugs and drunkeness, to prove a point. Quote
JoeMo Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Yentyl, What you say may be true for you. For the most part, the same is true for me. But I am thoroughly blessed by some "hard rock" Christian bands like Toby Mac, Skillet, and Flyleaf. I still enjoy some of Jeremy Camp's early stuff. In general though, I prefer stuff like Keri Jobe, Hillsong, and Jesus Culture. I have to lead worship for our Easter Service in Sabbath April 4; and I'm thinking of doing a guitar version of "O Sacred Head Now Wounded" and a traditional keyboard version of "Jesus Christ is Risen Today". Administrators Naomi Posted June 26, 2015 Administrators Posted June 26, 2015 Darrell Marshall is a terrific singer ... as well as is his wife ... but more than that, they are awesome people. Perhaps his music reflects Christ and his inter character. Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God

If it turns into other music that Christian Berdahl has frowned on, I'll delete it, but so far it's a joy and a fitting goodnight to rest upon. God is Love! Jesus saves! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
