Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted November 7, 2014 Moderators Posted November 7, 2014 Today, Friday, Adams County election judges will continue to count the ballots in the Tuesday election. How that vote is decided will determine the composition of the Colorado House and the Colorado senate. Both of those races are close and will be decided by the Adams County vote. This situation came about due to a clause in Colorado election law, a minor elected office that people did not want to compete for and a joke instigated by someone simply wanting to have some fun. Colorado law provides that if a person wants to run for an elected office and be placed on the ballot, they must register by a specified date. However, if they want to run for an elected office as a write-in candidate, and be authorized as a potential winner, they must register by a later specified date. The Adams County Surveyor forgot to register to be listed on the ballot due to the fact that he correctly believed that no one else would want the office. When he realized that he would soon be out of office, he registered as an official write-in candidate. Some jokester decided to have some fun. He went on Facebook and Twitter and asked people in Adams County to write his name in on the ballot. NOTE: There are some 20,000 ballots to count. Others chimed in and MIckey Mouse and other well-known names were written. Legally, all of those written in names must b accounted for. The judges will continue to count today. The Colorado State Senate is currently tied with 17 elected Republicans and 17 elected Democrats. Adams County will elect one. The Colorado State House is currently tied with 31 elected Democrats and 29 elected Republicans. Adams County will elect five. . Quote Gregory

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
