This I like.

 

We all are walking around the same pink elephant with our blindfolds on while touching it,..touching it.

 

It's not a matter of right or wrong in our verbal contributions but a matter of pooling our perspectives together to come to a conclusion.

 

Each one's view is valuable and presents another angle of the sin/salvation facet.

Sin is, simply put, the transgression against the Law of God. This Law is multifacet and is the will of God.

I believe sincerely it was put in place to regulate behavior of humans with humans so they could live in peace.

Though in O.T. laws there are also ones on how to deal with animals. 

 

Then I imagine the condition in the heart of people who sin against the Law of God.

I see in us sinners is an attitude of being self-assured in a superior manner that we can do 'wrong' without having to bear consequences. Arrogance is overbearing pride in doing or saying something. We are pushing the envelope way to far the moment our actions and words go against the Law of God. We in essence become a god unto ourselves when overriding the law of God to reach some goal or agenda we have.

 

The good news of the Gospel is Salvation. Which is in essence being saved by God from evil that will destroy us.

And growing the image of Christ within us by the workings of His h.Spirit living in us.

No; the Law is the sin police; and was given so we can police ourselves.  If anything, we are to be the "grace police"; encouraging all to trust in the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus for salvation.  There is no salvation in the law - it is without mercy or grace; it only brings us condemnation.  When we find ourselves (or others) in the act of self condemnation, we are to "arrest" that condemnation by reminding ourselves/others that we are saved by the grace of Jesus though faith - not by our works - lest anyone should boast.

I know I'm not saved by my works, but I'm a lot better off than the person who ignores the need to follow the principles they espouse, not to mention those I influence by my conduct, most especially if I give God the glory openly.

 God is Love! Jesus saves!

Thanks Joe, you put into words what I was just about to answer to her question on me.

 

One highly successful effort of living in peace with one another is to personally live out the laws of God pertaining to human interaction. So beautifully put was what our Jesus spoke on the mount to the folk as recorded in Matthew 5, 6, 7.

I don't have to point out the sins of another. The written law given to us does it. Faith will come by reading/hearing the word of God. The commandments of Jesus all through the gospels testify to what God wants from us in behavior. First to establish is a relationship of love to Jesus as our personal savior. Firstly, the insight by the Holy Spirit enlightens the mind/heart to the need to repent of sin. Then confession of guilt takes place. Then acceptance of Jesus the Christ as the Son of God that cleanses us from all guilt of sinning. All of which takes place through prayer to God in the name of Jesus. Then out of thankful gratitude we read in the gospels His commandments and apply them in human ethics situations.
