Take Away - Fast Food meals?

Recommended Posts

With the strong focus in the SDA on healthy eating and lifestyle, I am Interested to know what your personal approach is to take away / fast foods? Are their chains that you choose one over another because of the styles of foods that they serve? Are you a McDonalds, Burger King, KFC customer on occassion?

In my own case I would say that as I strove to try and get into better health I gave McDonalds and Burger King away and then found later on that I no longer liked the products that they sold, not because of the content but because of the taste of the grease on the products. I suspect it was simply because my own tastes had changed. At KFC I stopped going because it began to taste to me undercooked and I suspected that like most places they were going the way of pushing as much material through per minute as they could and not cooking it in a manner that was acceptable to me, although they might well disagree on that.

These days, Subway is my first option if its in a hurry, if its for a special treat then I enjoy the local Indian take away store. It is my observation that if you want Vegetarian food in Australia that the Indian stores tend to be the best to cater for you.

How about you?

We enjoy Schlotzsky's, Wendy's, Sonic and United Deli. Each place has a specialty each of us enjoys, but honestly the SDA health message doesn't play a part into what we eat when we go out. We pick these places because we can watch the people who are preparing our food.

I don't mean to imply that we don't eat as healthy as we can, it's just that if we were strict observers to the SDA health message, then we would be growing our own food and preparing it from scratch each and every meal.

I prefer Pita Pit and Subway sometimes. Today it was Burger King and I am sorry :(

I love Burgerville USA's fish 'n chips... too far to drive more than once or twice a year, though.. so if I get anything else, it will be a 7-layer burrito at Taco Bell maybe once every couple of months...

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

We only eat out when in town shopping, and it's usually a grilled cheese sandwich and fries at In-N-Out or else Taco Bell or sometimes Wendy's. Subway sandwiches tend to upset my wife's stomach.

Panera most often for us, followed closely by Chipotle.

I get tired of eating at Subway or Taco Bell...And I don't have other "fast food" places where I live....So, if I go to Portland, I visit Sweet Tomato or go to a mongolian grill or Thai restaurant  if I head south.....

If you download the Taco Bell app you can order things exactly how you want and get a truly amazing vegan (or bright) meal cheap and fast.
