When her daughter cried out for her help, she dropped everything, dawned a burka as a disguise, and headed to Raqqa, the Syrian city where the terrorist group has a stronghold. The brave Dutch mother, Monique, was victorious on her second attempt to cross from Turkey into the terrorist-infested country. She rescued her 19-year-old daughter Aicha, and brought her home to the Netherlands, BBC News reported. Aicha was arrested upon her return to her hometown of Maastricht, according to the girl’s attorney Françoise Landerloo. Dutch officials have refused to provide details about the case. The teenager was swooned on social media by Omar Yilmaz, a Dutch-Turkish jihadist who had once been in the Dutch military. The two quickly fell in love, and Aicha left in February to marry him in Syria after seeing him interviewed on television, according to the Telegraph. This “love story” is becoming all too familiar in Europe, where a number of teenage girls and women have gone to Syria and Iraq to join ISIS. Monique told Dutch TV in September that her daughter had changed within a short period from an enthusiastic Dutch teenager to a radical Muslim after consistent interaction with Yilmaz.”She saw him as a sort of Robin Hood,” her mother said. After converting to Islam and marrying the jihadist, Aicha reached out to her mother on Facebook in October. Aicha wanted help, specifically she needed rescued from the terrible life she was tricked into believing would be better than the violent reality it turned out to be. Monique made her first attempt at rescuing her daughter last month,which proved to be unsuccessful after she was unable to cross the border into Syria. “Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. This is what I think is right,” Monique reportedly told family and friends, according to TheAlgemeen Dagblad newspaper. “She wanted to go home, but could not leave Raqqa without help,” she added. Despite safety warnings by Dutch police and threats of prosecution for “provision of assistance to jihadists,” the mother did in fact do what she needed to do and brought her daughter back to safety. “It is quite remarkable that the mother managed to find and get her daughter,” Landerloo, the family’s lawyer, told the newspaper. This is not just a story of the rescue of a daughter because of the love of a mother. It is the story of love expressed through a woman who probably has a belief as a Christian, in the love of Jesus. Her victory is a direct evidence of the power of the love of the Creator for one of His children, as opposed to those who put their trust in another god. God is Love! Jesus saves! For example, was it by accident that the daughter gave her mother enough information to be able to locate her? We don't know the details of why the police arrested her. According to her mother she has changed since converting. Was wanting to come home the real and only reason? My heart goes out to her mother. This is a story that would be interesting to follow. I would think there is a lot more to the story than we know. I would think that the blinders would come off pretty quick and she would realize what a foolish mistake she had made,but who knows. In the world we live in, the Creator never withholds His love from any who follow His promptings, as evidenced by the thrust of His instruction to those where there is a possibility of response and whether we are willing to admit the Source. 27“But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. 28Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. 29If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also.
