Thank you both for the kind words. For some reason in that particular thread there is no provision to reply, which is one reason I have not commented in it.

I enjoy picture taking (I am not a photographer!) and if others can enjoy them too, that is great.

I have been impressed by many photos! I have downloaded some of them. I wish there were a place where they could identify their camera and any settings they used. I use a Nikon 8800. What does every one use? Especially for macros.

I was impressed by Mariann's art and photos. Her use of filters are very interesting also. I loved the ice!

Nan has some really great pics and so does Tom W. Barbara's are nice and many others!

Go and see if you have not. I saw many 10's.

Only a camera and the memory can freeze a moment in time. A photo triggers the most wonderful memories.

Many of the photos take me to places I will never be able to see in this lifetime. (Thank you Nan & Tom) The beauty of the earth and people add value to my life.

Lives only last one lifetime. Photos can live through many lifetimes if cared for properly. The older my photo, the more value it carries for me.

Keep them coming in. My photos I have on a private web site where only invitees can access them. Most of my family wants to keep themselves as family. Maybe I will post some of ours that are not so revealing of family and friends.

The greatest want of the world is the want of men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true & honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty..., men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.{Ed 57.3}

I use a Konica Minolta Dimage Z2, I think it is 6 megapixel with 10x optical zoom. The macro is the built in facility. I will sacrifice some specialisation for portability <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />, and with this camera it is point and shoot. I was probably more creative in the past with a manual SLR camera. Photography is a hobby not a profession for me.

When we go away, I write quite extensive email diaries to family and friends; when I get home I print them out and use some of my pictures as illustrations, and then have a great memory of the trip.
