aka Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Sanctuary, Now the more I read from you the more I see how nice you are. Perhaps it is possible for the few members on this Forum to gather together and talk more with one another in the Desire of Ages threads. The ones who have pride-of-opinion causing stubborn fighting won't want to stay in discussion in that sector when we ooze over them gobs of gooey love-isms. They'll leave to get noriety in another fora. I am pondering over Stan's wish to get blessed. Now, that's something practical we could start doing online........ Aliensanctuary Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I am rather mystified by what happened in the DA study. I really enjoyed the back and forth discussions in the earlier chapters. Now it seems to have become a solo effort by default. I still enjoy posting there, but it's gotten kind of lonely. I'm sure I'm not the only one with ideas or opinions about the subject of Christ's life and related topics. One can easily change the subject if another person keeps going on and on about something. I've posted several short stories in the DA forum, also, just wanting to share some ideas and hoping to find some like-minded friends. It's not like I'm trying to blow my own horn to call attention to myself. No, I was just trying to share a little of myself and my ideas, hoping others might do the same. Who knows, maybe someone's kid would like to hear one of the stories. I suppose I could try to publish a little book. I don't know what to do to try to get anything published, though. I'd still like to get baptized, but maybe I'm not ready, yet. The poor little local SDA church does need a transfusion, though...Maybe I could donate some of my own blood. I know I could be a better person if I could just get that infernal dead bird off from around my neck...I'm hoping it will fall off when I get baptized. It would be really nice to have a mentor, one who can teach and train us how to be True Christians. We have the Bible and EGW, but words on a page just don't seem to have the same power as flesh and blood and face-to-face encounters. Actually, online dialogue might have its place. Here, one can at least receive feedback and one-on-one communication. It would have at least been nice to have a video of Jesus as he was teaching and healing and living his everyday life. DA is about as close as we can get, I suppose. Of course, the Bible is really all we need to see Jesus. Blessed are those who haven't seen Jesus in person, yet still believe. There will be classes in the future life, If I read it correctly. Probably most, if not all humans will have to be taught new ideas and rules and job skills for a completely new way of life. Anyway, thanks to the powers that set up this website. It certainly has changed my life for the better. Quote The Parable of the Lamb and the Pigpen https://www.createspace.com/3401451
aka Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 A-Sanctuary, There are certain factor dynamics needed to keep a thread going in discussion for more than a page of postings. It is nothing unusual in this group of Adventists to shy from certain threads. When you know about the factors behind the scenes you'll understand. What you revealed is a strong desire to grow in grace of the knowledge of our Lord's salvation and joining His kingdom. That is soooo beautiful. Your heart's desire will be cared for because Jesus is accompaning you each and every day to bring about this process of becoming tied to His vine and producing His Holy Spirit life in you. I am so excited for you. So much unneeded human pain will be avoided in your life when the law of God is written on the walls of your life. Yes, that is a good idea of yours getting a mentor. I will write around this Forum to the guys to encourage them to take you in under their wings. I am a woman in my case who doesn't like a male depending on me for a Mentor position. I'll try to beat the bushes to find a guy for you. So don't hold your breath because it might take a while to awake the father-feeling for a fledging as yourself in the men I pm about your need. They will contact you by pm, who whoever they are, that will do a buddy-system approach to you. Hope Quote
