Sojourner Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 At my work today we had one of the interstate hierarchy over for a meeting and the company put on pizza for lunch today. I found out all of about 1/2 an hour before it started! - Yet the thought went through my mind, what would I do? - I have belonged to the SDA for a few months, yet have had no real reason to tell people that I don't eat pork. I have to say I felt a little concerned simply for the reason that I did not want to be in a position to refuse their kind offer of lunch, yet at the same time was resolute that I did not want to compromise on the pork eating idea either. So as luck would have it, whoever ordered the pizzas clearly thought ahead and got Vegetarian Pizza which until today I had never eaten before and my problem was solved! It was interesting though for me to reflect this afternoon on what God has done with my life, two years ago I would not have even remotely thought I would be at a work dinner as an SDA and eating a vegetarian dish. Yet God has led me that way and I have absolutley no regrets about following this call that He has placed on my life. Another thing that then occurred to me is that sometimes when we have a need, we take that need to God in prayer yet we can then discover that God has already answered that prayer before we even made it to Him, because of the fact that He knows what each of our needs are and acts on them anyway! Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted November 28, 2014 Members Posted November 28, 2014 lots of people are vegetarian or vegan - not just SDA... I think businesses are cognizant of that.. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Members phkrause Posted November 28, 2014 Members Posted November 28, 2014 Praise the Lord Sojourner. Its true, God answers before we even pray. He knows before we do that we will be saying a prayer. Its happen to me on a number of occasions. Sojourner 1 Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Aliensanctuary Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Nothing better than Veggie Delight pizza. If that's not an option, I have picked off the Canadian bacon or pepperoni. That doesn't work very well with hamburger or sausage, though. When pizza is brought to work or company Xmas parties (non-SDA), the veggie pizza nearly always goes first, so I have to be quick in order to get a piece or two.
