Christian Zionism and Aliyah from Ukraine.

I was interested to read today that several Christian Zionism organizations have pooled their resources and are chartering planes to get groups of Jewish people out of the Ukraine and into permanent residency in Israel. It is suggested that nearly 1500 people have been assisted to move to Israel from the areas affected by war in the Ukraine.

The article then goes on to tell of how a new Christian Zionism oranisation is being formed up that will fund Aliyah to Israel and be fully managed by Christians with no real Jewish imput at all and they intend to focus on the Ukraine, Russia and other places, likely India and Ethiopia.

I found it interesting that at the end of the article they questioned a group of Russian youth that have made the trip to Israel who are now considering whether they will convert to Judaism or to Christianity, suggesting or perhaps implying that the assistance from Christian Zionism orgs may be working as an evangelical outreach to Jewish people, or children of in this instance.

Its a long article, well worth a look and for your own study brings up an intereresting theology discussion on the background of Christian Zionism and where they feel the future of it is headed.

that's interesting...  Reminds me of the post-WWII airlifts to brings Jews to Israel.  My uncle was one of the pilots who flew for the Flying Tigers and airlifted refugees from all over Europe and the Near East under extremely dangerous conditions.

I am certainly NOT against people of Jewish ancestry having a "home" where they may safely practice their faith.  What troubles me is the stance of Israel, that it is "a Jewish state".  A "Jew" is one who rejects Christ as Messiah, according to the state's definition.  Jewish ancestry (DNA) is not enough to be defined as "Jewish".  Judaism is the state religion.  They do not persecute those who believe in Christ, or Allah, but they will not allow them to become citizens either.  In order to immigrate, one must declare openly his/her rejection of Jesus as Christ.  Some have done this, just to immigrate, and then later declared a "change of heart" AFTER being confirmed as citizens.   The State is getting very touchy about this sort of thing.

I think you are confusing the government of Israel with the nation (people group) of Israel.  The government of Israel does not speak for many of the Jews.

 

SDA's often teach that it was the pre-incarnate Jesus that created the earth and that interacted with the Israelites in the Old Testament as "God".  The nation of Israel has not rejected the God of the Old Testament. So they accept that part of Jesus because of the true testimony of the Scriptures.

 

If Christians had always told the truth about Jesus as the Messiah, who is faithful to the Old Testament, many more Jews would accept Jesus as Messiah.  But Christians over the centuries have grossly misrepresented Jesus.  Christians have taught that Jesus did away with the Torah by nailing it to the cross.  Christians have raped and murdered Jews in the name of "Jesus", and taught that God hated Jews (as recently as WW2).  It's no wonder that Jews and the government of Israel have rejected that misrepresentation of "Jesus".  I reject that misrepresentation of "Jesus" too.

 

Christians have openly rejected much of the Word of God contained in the Old Testament.  How can the Father bless Christians?

 

God can bless the Jews because, as the apostle Paul says, they are, "my kinsmen according to the flesh, who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons, and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the temple service and the promises, whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen." (Romans 9:4-5)
