Comparing humans to optical fibers

This seems to be a unique illustration, but I am not sure.  So I have 2 questions:

 

1)  Have you seen something like this before?

2)  How would you modify what has been written here?

I see it as the [usual] non-critical anthropomorphism used by mainstream Christians to stretch an illusion. I stopped short of "bone-headed."

When I saw where the "similitude" was headed, I stopped reading.

Prejudicial, yes. Perhaps I should have read further. I don't wish to spend the time to find out.

I think the objective here is to come up with a new/better/improved illustration, particularly if you don't really appreciate this one.

Crticism without suggested remedy is like cursing the darkness when you have matches and a candle in your hands that you don't use.
