Lineman Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 This seems to be a unique illustration, but I am not sure. So I have 2 questions: 1) Have you seen something like this before? 2) How would you modify what has been written here? Quote Visit and Share the BibleTimelines.com URL ! Ted Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 (edited) I see it as the [usual] non-critical anthropomorphism used by mainstream Christians to stretch an illusion. I stopped short of "bone-headed." When I saw where the "similitude" was headed, I stopped reading. Prejudicial, yes. Perhaps I should have read further. I don't wish to spend the time to find out. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 18, 2014 Members Posted December 18, 2014 the thought came to me that churches are more like lava lamps than fiber optics... Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted December 18, 2014 Administrators Posted December 18, 2014 I think the objective here is to come up with a new/better/improved illustration, particularly if you don't really appreciate this one. Crticism without suggested remedy is like cursing the darkness when you have matches and a candle in your hands that you don't use. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
