Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 22, 2014 Members Posted December 22, 2014 Plug in your net annual income and see where you stand in comparison to the rest of the world... http://www.globalrichlist.com/ Global Rich List Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. JoeMo Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I placed in top 2% in the world; but that's not saying much in the U.S. where it is estimated that over 10% of American households have a net worth of over $1 Million. Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 22, 2014 Author Members Posted December 22, 2014 actually, it says a LOT, when placed in context of the world's population... JoeMo Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Even poor Americans would probably place in the world's top 10%. Relative to the rest of the world, the U.S has 5.2% of the world's population and controls 32.7% of the world's wealth and 33.7% of world GDP; based in Wikipedia 2006 data. On the other side of the coin, there were 6 countries as of the end of 2013 which had a higher per capita income than the US: Qatar, Luxembourg, Singapore, Norway, Brunei and Hong Kong. Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 22, 2014 Author Members Posted December 22, 2014 okay.... I just thought it would be interesting for people to see where they were *individually* situated financially in the whole scheme of things in the world. That's all. I wasn't going after the stats on which country was financially better off than another, which is pretty easy to look up.. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted December 22, 2014 Administrators Posted December 22, 2014 To be in the top 2% worldwide in terms of annual income, you only need to have annual net income of $25,000. That is not too much more than what is considered the poverty level for a family of 4 in the US. I would say that many, if not most, of us are in the top 1% world wide since to hit that level you only need to have net income of just a bit more than $32,000. And I would bet that many here are in the seriously low fraction of 1% level, since making at least $42,000 would put you in the top 0.5%. The average SS recipient gets a benefit of $1294/month or 15,528/year. That would put such a person in the top 7% worldwide in terms of annual income. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
Lauralea Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Thanks, a good point- we have a lot to be thankful for when we look at it this way. Quote Behold what manner of love the Father hath given unto us.
