I was listening to an interview a few minutes ago and the first question was:

Why is it important that we remember Auschwitz?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

For myself, I just answered that in the topic started by Stan, entitled ""

Auschwitz: Past and Present Now is the time for every Jew to pledge active involvement in confronting the growing threat of anti-Semitism.

Yes, that was one point that was discussed in the interview I heard. Minorities in general are at risk if hatred is allowed to get a foothold

One day that minority might be you or me

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

In Australia there is an Israeli cafe company called "Max Brenner", they are popular for hot chocolates and other chocolate items. The owner is Jewish. Members of the political left, including a serving member of the Australian Greens - Senator Lee Rhiannon in our parliament from time to time hold rallies outside of his stores and call for them to be closed. They describe it as a "Boycott, Disinvestment and Sanctions". Yet these rallies which often degenerate into abuse and heavy police presence only ever target Jewish business owners, not unlike in Germany in 1936 when Hitler also began to segregate and initiate hate speech on Jewish people for no other reason than that they are Jewish.

If the Israel issue really mattered to these people the same thing would be done outside of Chinese businesses re Tibet or Russian businesses over the Ukraine for example. Yet the fact is that 70 years after Auschwitz its always targed towards the Jew - Yet again.

I wonder how many in here would be prepared to wear the Star of David or a T Shirt with the flag of Israel or any other item that might look Jewish in certain neighbourhoods in your own nation? Several Jewish people have been bashed in our streets again for no other reason than that they were recognised as being Jewish.

The fact is that we do not do enough to remember what happened at Auschwitz and we are now already seeing the rise of Anti Semitism across Western Countries, France perhaps being the most prevalent.

How do you shut the gate once the horse has bolted? - You cant, but you can refuse to participate in it and you can speak against Anti Semitism when you see it happening.
