Hi everyone, I'm new here. I wasn't too sure whether or not this was the appropriate section to post this question or not.

I am curious if anyone else has read this article, The Orion Message on the close of probation and end times. At first glance it seems skeptical but I'm drawn to it because the author is an Adventist and he uses a lot of EGW and the Bible so I wonder if he's onto something. I'll admit, I'm not as well versed in EGW and Bible prophesy as I'd like to be so a great deal of what he says confuses me. Its pretty lengthy but what he says is that probation for the dead ended in 2012 and probation for the living ends in October 2015. So...2015! well that's this year! So I'm pretty interested in this and am studying it. Just wondering if anyone else has too or has comments.

Thanks in advance.

okay.  I got to the part where Mr "Scotram" has decided that the day and hour of the 2nd coming can be predicted, and I stopped.  I don't buy into that type of nonsense... particularly when someone uses a pseudonym to write such things.  (His real last name is "Schottenhammel"... and the Adventist church does not support his ideas..)

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

In reviewing even more of Schottenhammel's writings, it appears that he is not now in the SDA church, and is denouncing the SDA denominational leaders, as well as others, including Doug Batchelor and Gerhard Pfandl.  Schottenhammel's bitterness comes from the fact that his notions are not being embraced by the church.  He even claims to have dreams à la Ernie Knoll.

Thanks for the reply rudywoof. I didn't' see where he predicted the 2nd coming. I thought he was referring to the close of probation for the living. However, I may have missed it.

Personally, I think the Schottenhammel's and High Sabbath Adventist's foundation is solid, even if their proposed chronology misses the mark with about 6 months to 1 year. According to them, Probation will close by fall of 2015 and the Second Coming will happen in fall 2016. This is obviously not realistic, as by spring 2015 the real persecution has yet to start.. I think the real chronology can be obtained by using a little "key" that has been missed by the HSM brethren: namely, the 4/15/2013 -> 9/11/2013 -> 10/7/2014 timeline delineating the repetition in literal days of the 5th and 6th trumpets respectively. The point is Adventist history makes a circle and the Loud Cry Message of the Revelation 18 Angel will repeat the 1844 message of the Three Angels from Revelation 14:

i) the 1844 message was originated by a time prophecy, that of William Miller / the Loud Cry will also be supported by time prophecies.

ii) the 1844 message has been empowered by Josiah Litch's interpretation of the 5th and 6th trumpets as culminating with the 1840 fall of the Ottoman Empire. It seems the Loud Cry message is also closely related to Islam, and here lies the explanation of the resurgence of Islamic terrorism we have been seeing in recent years. This fact has been understood by a number of Adventist preachers - among which the most prominent is Jeff Pippenger.

Based on the trumpet replay hypothesis, I have been able to obtain the following dates for the end time events:

i) Second Coming: 04/16/2017

ii) Close of Probation: 10/22/2016

iii) Between Close of Probation and Second Coming, we can accurately determine the precise dates for each of the Seven Plagues, based on the Orion Clock applied to the 168 days time difference between the two dates

iv) we can accurately predict the precise dates for more than 3x168 days Orion cycles of trumpets preceding the Close of Probation

The link in the opening post is to a document of 177 pages.  I suspect that few reading here will be willing to read all of those pages.

NOTE:  As a minor point, many of the references to Early Writings are off, in the standard English version, by one page.  So, if you want to check them, look both on the page given and on the next page.

In any case, the author makes some interesting points;  NOTE:  The material consists of multiple documents which seem to be written by some four different people, all coming from another country.  It also appears that the author is associated with the SDA Reform Movement (SDARM), although he does not claim that his doctrines are approved by them.

On page 133 he mentions the seven (7) foundational doctrines that should be the basis of God's Church in End Time.  Some seem to be associated with the SDARM and as coming as late in the history of the SDA Church as 1950.

He tells us that the SDA Church is corrupt and the General Conference has no light:

The SDA Church has been corrupted, and the General Conference no longer has the candlestick of truth. So who has it then? The offshoot groups or Reformation churches do not fulfill the prophecy at all, that their light would really fill the whole earth. The assistance still must come from "above."   page 140

He tells us that the intercessory service of  Christ ended in 2015 and that Christ will return in 2016.  See pages 166 & 167.

His views of the Horse Head Nebula and the star, Alnitak are not persuasive.

The document listed in the OP contains links to much more of the  written material that seemingly, if I understand it correctly, has been produced by four (4) people.  One of those links seemingly gives more information as to the time of Christ's return in 2016, but I did not read enough of that to be certain as to what it said.  Something is said about a death decree in October of 2015.  Again, I have not read enough of that to be certain as to exactly what is being said.

Well,  according to the authors, all of this and much more is written in the stars.

Well, just because one writes in good English, quotes from the Bible and EGW does not man that they have truth.  The Bible is truth, but it is often misused.
