Was Christ Crucified in 34 AD?

When was Christ slain?  Not at the foundation, but at the cross around 34 A.D.

Not willing to sidetrack the issue in that thread and since what many calls the Holy Week is just around the corner, I started this thread.

 

So, was Christ crucified 34 AD? Let's see what we can find from Scriptures.

 

The apostle John records 3 passovers after Jesus' baptism:

 

1. First Passover - John 2:13

2. Second Passover - John 6:4

3. Third Passover - John 11:55; 12:1; 13:1; 18:28, 39; 19:14

 

He ate His last passover meal on the same night He was arrested. Since He was crucified after His last and 3rd passover, and passover meal being an annual feast on the night after sunset of the 14th day of the first month of the year, adding 3 years to the year He was baptized will give us the year He was crucified.

 

So on what year was Jesus baptized by John the Baptist?

 

Luke says Jesus was baptized in the 15th year of the reign of Tiberius as emperor (see Luke 3:1, 21).  History tells us Tiberius started his reign in 14 AD. If the first year of his reign is 14 AD, the 15th year is 28 AD. Adding 3 years to 28 AD will bring us to the year Jesus had his 3rd and last passover on earth, 31 AD.

 

I wonder how 34 AD was arrived at by its proponents.

I can't imagine how 3 passovers, an annual feast, can fit into 490 days of the luni-solar Hebrew calendar.
