Ownership of Church Property

The above article is a clear reminder that we live in a dual world that is governed by civil authority as well as denominational authority.  If people can not agree to settlement of differences the civil authorities may make decisions.  Actually, denominational policy tells us that some issues should be left to the civil authorities to resolve. 

 

 

It should be noted that in some situations congregational property has not been owned by the Conference.  I have pastored two such churches (many years ago) and I am aware of such being allowed in recent time.
