A challenging Book

This book will be of interest in two areas:

 

1) It tells the stories of American slavery with little-known accounts.

 

E. G.  In a time when slaves were not expected to be able to read, Omar ibn Said, wrote in his North Carolina cell, in Arabic, which none of his jailors even recognized as written script.

 

 

 

2) I suggests that the U.S. is much more than a Christian nation, it is also a Muslim, Sikh,  Buddhist and more nation.
