bonnie Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Would it be wrong for a black skinned baker to refuse to make a cake for a Klan meeting? Yes it would. A Jewish baker should be forced to make a cake honoring a Nazi wedding as well. Making a cake with the emblem of the Confederate flag shouldn't be a problem for them either. They make many for the 4th of July with the national flag Sojourner 1 Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman

If he/she is smart he/she would make it. There is an opportunity for creativity with the ingredients. If they are dumb enough to ask he should be smart enough to make it. By the way you need to work on your terminology. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence. Einstein

Like those terms that people that have a darker shade of melanin in their skin use to describe themselves in their own music videos? Quote
Moderators lazarus Posted April 6, 2015 Moderators Posted April 6, 2015 U are welcome to start using that kind of terminology if you like but it wouldn't go well for you. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted April 6, 2015 Administrators Posted April 6, 2015 Perhaps a better approach would be http://tenthousandplaces.org/2015/04/01/bake-for-them-two/ rudywoofs (Pam) 1 Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. JoeMo Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 The baker should do whatever he/she feels is right, no matter what color his/her skin is. An African American Christian full of the love of Jesus might just feel like making the best cake ever for the Klan as an act of love towards their enemies. Maybe not. Who am I to judge or make that call? LifeHiscost 1 Quote
Moderators lazarus Posted April 6, 2015 Moderators Posted April 6, 2015 Tom, I like the rework of the text..... If someone forces you to bake a cake for them, bake them two. LifeHiscost Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Tom, I like the rework of the text..... If someone forces you to bake a cake for them, bake them two. That's definitely true when being forced, but as long as one is still free to make their own decision as opposed to being forced, to glorify God by helping someone spread false doctrine (KKK principles) doesn't sound reasonable, but rather hides one's true identity in Christ. 16For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."...Romans 1 Emphasis theirs' LHC God is Love! bonnie Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Tom, I like the rework of the text..... If someone forces you to bake a cake for them, bake them two. There have always been "arrogant humans" reworking the inspired word of God. Reworking so that it is more acceptable . Only problem with that is that it ceases to be inspired and puts a pretty spin on old sin. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also,” he said. “And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Those of you that put a human spin on the above, would you stand there and encourage someone that has slapped your wife to do so again? Perhaps the poster would encourage the denomination being sued to acknowledge wrong and hand over a check. Think that will happen anytime soon? Which of you will borrow me a substantial sum of money today? This says none of you that consider yourself Christian should turn me down. Or is the reworking of scripture only applicable for the protected and special sin of homosexual lifestyle? Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make.
