David Cameron, who was shadow education secretary, says he will make the Conservative Party more modern and compassionate. But after three election losses, he has his work cut out making the party more appealing to disillusioned voters before Britain's next election in 2009. Mr Cameron, who has been likened to a young Tony Blair, says the Labour Party's days at the top are numbered. "I don't believe that Labour can meet these challenges, they are yesterday's men with yesterday's measures," he said. David Cameron is the fifth person to lead the Tories in eight years.
