Administrators Gail Posted May 3, 2015 Administrators Posted May 3, 2015 Making judgments on others is so easy to do, isn't it? Thanks for the reminder! Stan Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 please remember, in original thoughts there is no quoting. If you want to quote, and everyone is more than welcome too, please do it in Townhall or another forum on here. That is just how it is. LifeHiscost Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Sometimes I answer a single post without paying attention to which forum I'm on. Sorry about that. Those who think they can think without having had a predecessor think that same thought before them, I think are sadly saddled with deficient thoughts and I think will someday have second thoughts about their thoughtlessness. God is Love! Jesus saves! . Stan 1 Quote Lift Jesus up!!
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted May 3, 2015 Administrators Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) Take a look at Ed. p.17. And see if you can discover what EGW had to say about learning to think rather than to only mirror and repeat the the thoughts of others. A power developed by true education... Sadly it seems that far too few have learned this important lesson... Edited May 3, 2015 by Tom Wetmore Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." LifeHiscost Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 The key is "other men's" thought". As fallen human beings, dependence upon Divine perception would seem to me to be a coveted attribute, unless we're certain "we know better" God is Love! Jesus saves! Quote Lift Jesus up!!

Administrators Gail Posted May 3, 2015 Administrators Posted May 3, 2015 Well, that is one way to derail a thread... GayatfootofCross 1 Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted May 3, 2015 Administrators Posted May 3, 2015 Truth be told, Gail... at at some point after that the teachable moment has passed I will put the train back on the tracks. Administrators Gail Posted May 3, 2015 Administrators Posted May 3, 2015 Thanks, Tom. It's really hard to stick to the principle! I know I have been guilty of forgetting where I am and quoting here. But it's a GREAT, challenging concept and one I appreciate. Don't worry, Gay, we'll get back on track. I appreciate the effort that went into the OP- I found it thought-provoking! I wonder if we can colour code this forum's background or something to alert members instantly of where they are Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Members phkrause Posted May 3, 2015 Members Posted May 3, 2015 How about getting rid of the "Quote" button in this Forum?? Gail 1 Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
LifeHiscost Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Under the old software from last year, I figured out how to ban people from posting or replying to a post in the original thoughts forum. I have not figured out how to do that with this software... Please help me out by not making me do that.... Just sayin' would appreciate some help... I'm better able to locate past posts of my own and I thank you, Stan. And OTOH, if I am unable to post thoughts that Jesus doesn't know before hand, I have a good Predecessor Who revealed at least one way He dealt with it. However I'll post it in the Theology forum in case it might be unacceptable other places than the "Original Thoughts" forum. BTW I thought PK had an excellent idea inasmuch as quotes are illegal on this forum. God is Love! Jesus saves! Quote Lift Jesus up!!

Why do we human beings think we are right about everyone we meet in the first place? Judgement and constant labeling sucks the life out of you and blocks GOD from using you Our imaginings about others has to be held up to JESUS second big commandment. . Do you wander thru life without an opinion? Having an opinion and judging the worth or value of someone is not the same. Raising my four boys and a number of other children I formed opinions and made judgements concerning who would influence my young children . That was not determining the worth of someone else but determining the values I wanted instilled in my children. Would my sons walk around with their pants around their knees? Nope, not on your life. Frankly,I have no desire to see someone's underwear. Whether or not my sons would have a close friendship with those that do would depend on a number of things. First and foremost in my house they would pull up their pants. If they refused and showed a complete lack of respect for wishes in my home it would go a long way in telling me what type of relationship my boys would have with them. Some were with supervision. When they were at an age to where they were might be easily influenced, those that were liberal SDA and those that were ultra conservative were situations I watched closely. Not judging the value of those but what values I wanted my sons to have. It must be a fun and satisfying world for those that worry so much about someone else judging while ignoring their own difficulties in that area. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
