TruthSeeker123 Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Why do the following Bible prophecy keys only apply to Revelation 12-14 and Daniel 7-9 cycles but not to the events depicted in the seven seals and trumpets? Water = people wind = strife horn, beast, crown = king, kingdom woman = church desert = little populated area I've been wondering about this for some time And have not found a satisfactory answer yet. TruthSeeker123 Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 But the trumpets don't signify the 7 last plagues. The seven last plagues echo the plagues that fell only on the Egyptians as you implied. But they are only revealed in Rev 16.. For example, the locust plague of Rev 9:1-12 symbolises the rise and fall of the Ottoman Empire. The locusts aren't literal like the seven last plagues in Rev 16. Quote
Samie Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I think the following scenario was NOT fulfilled in the rise and fall of the Ottoman Empire: Revelation 9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. And if NOT, then the rise and fall of the Ottoman Empire was not the fulfillment of the 5th trumpet, was it? Quote
TruthSeeker123 Posted June 27, 2015 Author Posted June 27, 2015 My question still stands: Why don't the Bible Prophecy keys (see OP) have universal application in the apocalyptic prophecy books of Daniel and Revelation? Quote
8thdaypriest Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 My personal take on the warning Trumpets is that they are REAL disasters which Satan will USE to convince people that these are the 7 LAST plagues. That way - the people will be ready for his appearance in the Temple, claiming to be Messiah for the whole world. The "wrath" vials of Rev 16, are poured out "in one day". They are triggered by the return of Christ in the glory of His Father. The warning Trumpet judgments are NOT UNIVERSAL. The 7 wrath plagues ARE UNIVERSAL. Quote 8thdaypriest

It is because they are not prophetic keys, they are just read in context to each book and chapter. Words and phrases gain their meaning in context, not in isolation. Quote

Jesus taught that "he that believes on Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." The Bible then explains that, "... this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive...". (Jn 7:38-39.) So water, in this instance, represents the Spirit of God. Mrs. White also writes of "water" in a certain application, and says that water "is an emblem of the divine grace which Christ alone can bestow". (Patriarchs & Prophets p.411-412). Quote

I think that the two quotes quite possible refer to the same thing. The divine grace comes by the Holy Spirit, "both to will and to do". First as/if we choose to be submissive to God the HS works on our thinking suggesting changes we either accept or reject. As/if we accept that change in thinking at some point we are then supernaturally by the Holy Spirit enabled to do His will. Personal experience as I claimed that text in a particular situation. Anyway, I think the "divine grace" is the same as the HS. Stewart (SDA) 1 Quote facebook. /teresa.quintero.790
Stewart (SDA) Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Yes, I can accept that, Teresa. Thank you. teresaq 1 Quote
